With only four runners declared for this Grade 2 Oaksey Chase, it looks a good opportunity for the Nicky Henderson trained Mister Fisher (best priced at 13/8) to get back to winning ways. The eight-year-old is far from consistent but looks the horse most likely to put in a performance that is good enough to win this.

The four time Grade 2 winning gelding bounced back from a disappointing run in the King George VI Chase on his reappearance to win the Grade 2 Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton beating Eldorado Allen in February before finishing 4th behind Fakir D’Oudairies in a Grade 1 at Ascot on his next start.

Mister Fisher jumped poorly in the Marsh Chase at Aintree last time when pulled up but last year’s runner-up is well capable of bouncing back to form and I think he should prove hard to beat in this race despite having to concede a penalty.

Mister Fisher - 1pt @ 13/8

The Dan Skelton trained Nube Negra (best priced at 6/4) shows his best form when fresh so I expect him to be able to be able to bounce back from a disappointing effort in the Tingle Creek here. The eight-year-old is extremely consistent with him yet to finish out of the first 4 in his nine starts over fences with four of those resulting in victories.

He was an impressive six length winner of the Grade 2 Shloer Chase on his reappearance at Cheltenham before disappointing in the Tingle Creek only a couple of weeks later. He skipped Cheltenham following the downpour of rain on the Wednesday so he is fresh for this Grade 1 and I expect him to prove hard to beat on his favoured ground.

Nube Negra - 1pt @ 6/4

Enrilo

As always, the Bet 365 Gold Cup looks a really competitive race with lots of horses towards the top of the market holding strong claims. Preference though goes to Enrilo (best priced at 7/2) who finished first past the post in this race last season before losing it in the Stewards’ Room.

The Paul Nicholls trained eight-year-old was involved in a tight messy finish to this race last season off a mark of 143 and runs here off only a 1lb higher mark this year. He fell when well fancied for the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury on his reappearance before pulling up at Cheltenham on his next start in a rare below-par performance.

He ran much better last time when 4th at Kempton in first time cheekpieces and the handicapper has generously dropped him 2lbs for that effort. He faces the reopposing Potterman and Kitty’s Light on better terms than last year and I expect him to prove hard to beat.

Enrilo - 1pt @ 7/2

This looks a competitive Novices’ Handicap Chase but preference goes to the Paul Nicholls trained Flic Ou Voyou (best priced at 11/2). The eight-year-old has finished 2nd in all three of his starts at Sandown including when 2nd in the Novices’ Handicap Hurdle on this card last year. That run came off a mark of 135 and he runs off the same rating over fences this year so he is clearly competitively handicapped.

He defeated the reopposing Jacamar earlier this season in first time cheekpieces at Doncaster before running well to finish 2nd behind Killer Kane over this course and distance in March off a 2lb lower mark.

He unseated Bryony Frost at Ayr earlier this month but that was an uncharacteristic error and he should be able to bounce back to form here with Harry Cobden back on board.

Flic Ou Voyou - 1pt @ 11/2
