FANZONE (NAP (best price 11/4) fully capitalised on his reduced mark when powering to victory over course-and-distance 11 days ago and while he’s been hit with a 4Ib rise, I don’t think that will prevent him from following-up back down in class. He travelled noticeably well throughout and made a decisive move in between horses inside the final furlong to lead before forging clear in the final stages of the race.

He beat two horses rated 73 and 75 with the minimum of fuss and his best form has come under good to firm conditions which will be the same here. He’s actually only finished out of the frame twice in ten starts while other bits and pieces of his form makes him still well-treated at present. Liam Bailey is also represented with How Bizarre and while he’s very well-treated on past form and is being well-supported in the market, due to his penultimate second at this course, he should set this race up perfectly for his team-member.

With no other confirmed front-runner in the line-up, he’s likely to be the pace angle here which should very much suit Fanzone, who’s likely to be ridden conservatively in behind the leader before coming with a smooth run inside the final furlong to attack his stablemate. If How Bizarre can set a good pace, the latters turn of foot should prove to be far superior for this field who can therefore utilise the drop in class and bag a second course-and-distance success.

The only previous time ROBASTA (best price 6/1) ran on an artificial surface he finished in front of two horse now rated 104 and 115 and while he’s not really kicked on from his Ascot victory in a Nursery last year, perhaps the drop in grade off a fair mark and change in yards will do the trick. Laura Pearson takes off a valuable 3Ib and this well-handicapped Gelding would take some beating if able to rediscover his two-year-old form in which he beat three subsequent winners - Tyson, Flaming Rib and Haymaker.

His efforts in defeat include when chasing home the likes of Go Bears Go, Second Wind, while his sixth at Doncaster has worked out well too, as he was trading blows with other subsequent winners such as Ever Given and Live In The Dream. He could only finish sixth last time but, again, that form has substance as the runner-up Outgate bolted up at Chester last week. It might be asking a lot of him to go and win this on his stable/seasonal debut against race-fit rivals but he’s got the ability and form in the book to go very well at this level.
