After picking up an 8/1 winner yesterday, Architect Tips is back with three tips for today's racing including a NAP at Salisbury.
14:45 Salisbury
CABINET OF CLOWNS (NAP) (best price 7/4) ran a promising race when fourth on debut over course-and-distance and, with the form working out strongly due to the third Jimi Hendrix defying a mark of 83 on handicap debut last weekend, Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge can make the most of this good opportunity here. The third and sixth of that debut event have won since and he ran very well to finish second last time despite being hampered shortly after coming out of the stalls.
Of all the runners with experience, he undeniably brings the best form to the table, so unless Jupiter And Mars is above-average, he should be more than capable of putting his experience of this course to good use and open his account at the third time of asking here.

VELVET AND STEEL (best price 25/1) hasn’t been at her best so far in two starts this year but she drops in grade and has finished second on both previous starts in this grade so cannot be dismissed despite being regarded as one of the outsiders of the field by most firms. She looked as though he would develop into a smart filly last year when trained by Ralph Beckett, finishing second three times, and while she’s not been able to replicate that sort of form in two subsequent starts, she has been granted a fair chance by the assessor.
Her second at Kempton last year reads strong form for this grade as she split two horses now rated 86 and 85 off a mark of 75 and she finds herself eligible to compete off a five-pound lower mark here. Hurricane Helen is the one to beat but, at the forecast odds, this filly by Union Rags holds a better chance than her odds indicate and could cause a mini upset if able to run to her best.
