The Brian O’Rourke trained DELAYHOUSSAYE (best priced at 4/1) put in a career best performance (according to RPRs) last time in first time blinkers and he should be able to get off the mark in his career in this race. The son of Footstepsinthesand ran well to finish 3rd at Bath off a mark of 56 before finishing a close 3rd last time in first time blinkers off the same mark.

Delahoussaye made eyecatching headway to lead entering the final furlong before weakening late on to finish 3rd. This drop back from 1m2f to a mile should suit based on that evidence with Saffie Osbourne now claiming 3lbs off his back.

This looks a competitive 0-95 handicap but preference goes to the Saeed Bin Suroor trained LIGHT AND DARK (best priced at 3/1) who needs to bounce back from some below-par efforts in Meydan earlier this year. The six-year-old was in good form when last seen in the UK when 2nd at Sandown off a mark of 92 before winning at Kempton off a mark of 94 in October 2020.

Light And Dark has disappointed on his next three starts in Meydan since but has now dropped back down to a handicap mark of 95. He is now fitted with a first-time tongue-tie on his first start for 109 days and can hopefully get back on track in this race.

The top weight Imperial Sands is interesting in first time cheekpieces but preference goes to PETER THE GREAT (best priced at 5/2) who runs here in first time blinkers. The John & Thady Gosden four-year-old has finished beaten less than a length on his previous two starts including over this course and distance last time.

Pedro The Great finished 2nd by ¾ length that day in first time cheekpieces despite getting upset in the stalls before the race. He is now fitted with first time blinkers instead and he should prove hard to beat if behaving better pre-race.

Peter The Great - 1pt @ 5/2
