This is a quality-looking handicap and I’ll take a chance on handicap debutant THE ORGANISER (best price 8/1) who was highly tried at two and while the wheels appeared to fall off afterwards, it’s possible this grade will get the fire back in his belly with James Doyle booked to ride. In fact, he is actually the highest-rated runner in the field but gets weight from plenty of these and should strip fitter for his reappearance at Newbury in a Listed event last month. Furthermore, conditions will be in his favour and he is drawn well in stall two, so there will be no excuses for him here and he’s fancied to get back to his juvenile form for Joseph Tuite and go close to winning this race at nice odds.

FOX POWER (best price 4/1) was having his first run for this stable when a good second over course-and-distance last month and that form has a nice look to it, as the fourth subsequently defied a mark of 91 in a class two event earlier this week. He’s also four-pounds below his last winning mark, which came in a class three event, so he’s undeniably well-treated here and the booking of SIlvestre De Sousa is good. He was rated as high as 100 back in 2020, so his current mark of 79 is there for the taking and, being drawn well in stall four, he looks sure to be very competitive here.
