Leg 1 Selections: Drumlee Watar, Wall Of Fame

DRUMLEE WATAR was successful over hurdles four times last year and ran a big race
when a close-up second last time in this grade when beaten just one length. He’s a former
course-and-distance winner, so if he’s able to back up that last effort in defeat, he might be
able to go one better here.

WALL OF FAME showed good form when trained in Ireland and despite unseating his rider
last time, he shaped well on his penultimate start to finish fourth. He’s subsequently joined
Donald McCain and if he can put in a clear round, he should be competitive.

Leg 2 Selections: De Barley Basket

The Ben Pauling-trained DE BARLEY BASKET is on a roll over fences, in which he’s won
four of his six starts in this sphere and returned from an absence to score here and at
Uttoxeter in his last two runs. He’s jumped and travelled well in each of his victories and will
relish conditions.

He’s shot up another nine pounds as a result but he won last time with a lot to spare and is
open to further improvement. Lord Bryan will be a tough opponent but the former is proving
hard to beat from the front and that could be the case again here with Kielan Woods riding
as well as ever.

Leg 3 Selections: Intrepide Sud

This isn’t the strongest of bumpers and it can therefore go to INTREPIDE SUD, who shaped
with promise when sixth on rules debut at Aintree and should improve a lot now switched to
this yard with Paddy Brennan doing the steering.

He did race a bit freely on debut so will need to settle better but he’s in the right hands and is
bred to be quite useful. This race is a huge drop in grade too, so provided he’s ready to roll,
he could take some stopping in this. Western Safire is the danger.

Leg 4 Selections: American Sniper

AMERICAN SNIPER ran a race full of promise when runner-up over track and trip, where he
travelled really well and only found one too good late on. He’s sure to have learnt a lot that
day and could be up to going a place better in this race.

Wind Of Fortune is interesting but he ran a very disappointing race when pulled up on debut
as if something was amiss and does need to bounce back, while debutant, Horse Power, is
feared for a yard who has a good strike-rate in bumpers.

Leg 5 Selections: Oceanline

A good race for the grade for leg five with Tiger Orchid and Fat Sam arriving in good form
but OCEANLINE was a smart stayer on the Flat and even though he’s yet to win over
hurdles, he ran well behind an odds-on favourite last time and has room for more
improvement in this sphere.

He’s left Alan King since and ran very well to finish fifth on his penultimate start at Ascot in a
class two, where he would have been closer without a blunder late on. He will receive a lot of
weight from his two market rivals and that could be enough to see him get his head in front

Leg 6 Selections: Ince, Ultimate Fame

Leg six looks a bit tricky but INCE ran her best race over hurdles just over two weeks ago
when second and was raised just two pounds by the assessor on the back of that effort
which seems fair. She should be thereabouts in an open-looking contest.

Her stablemate, ULTIMATE FAME, has ran well in a pair of class four events the last two
times though, finishing second and drops in grade ahead her handicap debut here. Jack
Hogan takes off seven pounds to reduce her weight and she’s another to consider here.
