The Prix Roland De Chambure Listed Stakes can go the way of SYDNEYARMS CHELSEA (best price 2/1) who ran a huge race to finish fifth in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot behind Meditate. I think this race is a lot weaker despite coming up against Neversay, and the way she hit the line strongly last time, likewise to when scoring on debut, suggests this course will play to her strengths. Charlie Hills has regularly done well with runners he’s sent over to France and Hollie Doyle has been booked to ride on this occasion. Her mount can make it two wins from three starts and boost the form-lines of the Albany, which has already worked out strongly with the second Mawj, winning a couple of days ago.

The feature race on the card in France is the Haras D'etreham Prix Jean Prat and I am drawn to the claims of LUSAIL (NAP) (best price 4/1) who can go one better than his excellent short-head second in the St James’s Palace Stakes last time. That form looks seriously strong in the context of this event and while he returns to a much shorter trip, his form figures over six reads 1311. The ground will be absolutely perfect for him and he ticks most of the trends for this race too. I do fear Tenebrism but the former arrives on the back of a career-best performance and, under an attacking ride from Pat Dobbs, he can deservedly go close to gaining a first breakthrough success at the highest level for the Richard Hannon team. 4/1 is available with Ladbrokes, Bet365 and Coral.

The Clive Cox-trained WINGS OF WAR (best price 11/2) wasn’t disgraced when midfield in the Commonwealth Cup last time and will find this drop in grade a bit easier. He was a little unlucky not to finish closer when third in the Sandy Lane on his penultimate start and he proved his class in a Group Two last year at Newbury. He gets weight from the rest of the field being the only three-year-old in the contest and this looks a sweet bit of placing by his trainer with Kieran Shoemark booked to ride. With the drop in grade looking favourable and this course likely to suit his run style, he could offer some value at the odds. I’m convinced we haven’t seen the best of him yet and this race with the allowance gives him every chance of being competitive.

No Fixed Charges should be thereabouts in this race but there’s lots to like about Iain Jardine’s GLEN AVA (best price 9/4) here, who goes in search of a third consecutive course-and-distance victory. She’s two from three for this stable and was in control of her latest success a long way from the finish over course-and-distance, where she had all her rivals in trouble before skipping clear to score easily by five lengths under Conor O’Farrell. That win was in a slow time and this is a slightly better race, but she will carry less weight this time, is clearly in good heart and should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick.
