15:00 Musselburgh

The Keith Dalgleish trained Celestial Star (best priced at 5/2) has been running consistently well so far this season and deserves to get her head in front in this race. The three-year-old has placed on both of her starts at Musselburgh with a 2nd place over a mile in May in a maiden before finishing a close 3rd over 7f in a handicap off a mark of 75.

Celestial Star finished a close 2nd at Ayr last time in a maiden but she now drops back into handicap company off a mark of 72 and is also fitted with a first time visor for this race. A combination of first time headgear, a reduced handicap mark and the return to Musselburgh will hopefully mean she can get off the mark at the seventh attempt.

Big Island (best priced at 9/1) left John James Feane rated 80 on the flat to go hurdling for W Lanigan and he looks extremely well handicapped on his handicap debut off an opening mark of 99. The five-year-old won twice on the flat including a victory at Galway in October when he won a competitive 50-80 handicap off a mark of 75.

Big Island has form figures of 005 over hurdles so far in his jumping career having been sent off 25/1, 50/1 and 28/1 in maiden hurdles but the son of Canford Cliffs should be better suited by this drop down to 2 miles rather than over nearly 2m4f. The small scale trainer is yet to have a winner so far this season but the booking of Danny Mullins looks notable and he is worth backing off this mark.
