Leg 1 Selections: Andaleep, Pledge Of Honour

ANDALEEP made a winning stable debut two starts ago and matched that form when third last time. He’s got a good record at this course being a three time course-and-distance winner in the past and should make his presence felt again here. PLEDGE OF HONOUR is in the form of his life at the moment though, who’s won twice and has placed twice in his last four starts and the form of his latest second is quite solid. He should go very well off only a pound higher mark than last time.

Leg 2 Selections: Mrs U S A

The third leg looks quite tricky, but the George Boughey-trained MRS U S A has already shown a lot of promise to date, in which she’s finished runner-up in a pair of novice’ events the last twice and, in that latest race, she pulled well clear of the third. Her debut second has worked out well with the Puffable, who was back in third, winning comfortably since and William Buick is interestingly in the saddle this time round. With more to come, she’s a huge player.

Leg 3 Selections: Reversion

Autumn Festival is the likely pace angle and should go well in leg four but Alan King’s REVERSION performed with credit when fifth at Newbury last month and connections have reached for the first-time blinkers here, which should eke out further improvement. He gave weight and a beating to a subsequent winner who’s defied a mark of 78 since at this course last September and, with Tom Marquand required for the task ahead, this three-year-old should be able to get back to something near his best against mostly out-of-sorts rivals here.

Leg 4 Selections: Colour Image, Liberation Point

COLOUR IMAGE benefitted from a forceful ride when showing a tenacious attitude to score at Bath last time and that form has already been well-advertised with the third, Sheer Rocks, winning off 84 at Chester easily next time. On that evidence, the top-weight remains nicely treated off 83 here and he should make a bold bid under the retained Tom Marquand. LIBERATION POINT posted a good effort at Chelmsford behind a course-specialist last time and returns to the turf in a lower-grade event. He should be extremely competitive off the same mark with Silvestre De Sousa doing the steering here.

Leg 5 Selections: Cosmic Desert, Maytree Respite

Charlie Appleby’s COSMIC DESERT has been knocking on the door in placing in his five starts to date and ran another solid race at Ascot just under two weeks ago. His form has continued to work out well, including his third on debut behind subsequent winner New London and his second to Deauville Legend, who went onto win the Bahrain Trophy at Newbury. With the return to this longer trip looking favourable, he’s surely got to go close here in leg five. MAYTREE RESPITE battled to victory at Newbury last time and should be competitive after only going up three pounds.

Leg 6 Selections: Happy

Charlie and Mark Johnston’s HAPPY has been running very well of late in stronger events than this and his latest fourth over course-and-distance looks a solid piece of form as the first two home are useful. He’s already placed three times this year off marks of 83, 82 and 82 and connections have booked William Buick to ride. He has to give a lot of weight to this field but he’s earned the right to be the highest-rated in the field and is the one to beat on the form available in this race.
