ACT OF WILL (best price 10/3) did remarkably well to only be beaten a neck last time on debut despite plenty going wrong for him and is confidently taken to go one better here. He stumbled at the start, was bumped, raced keenly and was denied a clear run too, so it was an effort worth upgrading to the highest degree as he overcame all of these problems to nearly take the spoils. The form hasn’t worked out subsequently, but he is open to further improvement, and shouldn’t have any issue over this shorter distance. Expeditious sets the standard but with that one likely to go forward, she should set this race up nicely for the former, who can make amends for that near-miss when last spotted under Jack Garritty.

COLEY’S COKO (best price 13/2) is the only course-and-distance winner in the field and while she hasn’t really threatened in recent starts, she is now eight-pounds lower than successful over track and trip last year, which came in a class five event. This is a class six and she gets on well with Rowan Scott, plus she is drawn well in stall nine, so is likely to track pacesetter Foreseeable Future. She was behind the latter last time but she’s a much better filly at this course and is dangerously well-handicapped in a race that is littered with exposed types. If the first-time visor can help her raise her game, which I have a feeling it might, she should go close to winning this race.
