Leg 1 Selections: Beautiful Aisling

Simon Crisford’s speedy BEAUTIFUL AISLING finished runner-up on her first two starts and wasn’t disgraced when eleventh of 16 in the Albany at Royal Ascot when last spotted. This is a major drop in grade from that race, so this daughter of Havana Gold is strongly fancied to gain a first career success in leg one, especially with the opposition looking rather thin.

Leg 2 Selections: Jim’s Cracker, Vondelpark

The second leg looks a bit more difficult than the opener but JIM’S CRACKER ran a solid race when sixth in a class four event at Newcastle three weeks ago and is the one to beat in this grade. Of the rest, I wouldn’t rule out VONDELPARK, who’s third at York reads well in this easier race and he should be able to make his presence felt with more to offer.

Leg 3 Selections: Ornate

ORNATE has the widest draw to overcome but he’s a class above this field and this will be the first time in a class five event. The nine-year-old has tackled some of the best sprinters of this era during his career and is a past course-and-distance winner, who was sixth in the 2019 Beverley Bullet too. If he can somehow get to the front, he could have too much natural speed and ability for these at large odds.

Leg 4 Selections: At The Double

AT THE DOUBLE returned a very comfortable winner in July at Salisbury and produced a solid performance in defeat when second at Nottingham two weeks ago to subsequent winner Mukha Magic. He comes out best at the weights in this race and is therefore strongly fancied to get back to winning ways by seeing off his two rivals under the services of Luke Morris again.

Leg 5 Selections: Habana Flyer, Majil

HABANA FLYER has shown a lot of speed and promise in her three runs to date and should be well suited to this course. Her seventh at York behind The Platinum Queen is strong form and she should go close to opening her account here. MAJIL was doing all of her best work at the finish at Southwell last time when third and merits consideration from the same mark here.

Leg 6 Selections: Temper Trap

TEMPER TRAP had little difficulty completing his double when scoring at Ripon the other day, in which he won by six lengths plus. He remains un-penalised for that victory, so it’s no surprise to see him turned out quickly before his revised mark kicks into play. A similar performance in this moderate contest should see the five-year-old complete the three timer for leg six.
