Sunday Racing Tips from Architect

FIVETHOUSANDTOONE (best price 9/4) has gone a long time without success but he’s been thereabouts the last two times and the return to this trip could see him return to the winner’s enclosure. He came close to beating Run To Freedom on his penultimate start at Salisbury and a reproduction of that performance with William Buick in the saddle should Andrew Balding’s charge go close here off a mark that’s well within his capabilities if able to put it all together. 

FALLING SHADOW (best price 15/8) was an impressive winner on his reappearance and shaped very well when seventh in the Golden Gate at Royal Ascot, keeping on steadily in a race that has worked out well. He lost little in defeat when runner-up to Night Of Luxury last time when giving the winner weight as the front pair pulled clear of the remainder. A similar performance in this race could see him make it three wins from just starts for the boys in blue under the guidance of William Buick, who has an excellent book of rides here. 
 

HAPPY POWER (best price 15/8) is much the best of these and ran a cracker when fourth in the Group Two Lennox Stakes over course-and-distance last time. He isn’t the most consistent but Andrew Balding’s charge brings some quality form to the table and gets his favoured conditions. William Buick is booked to ride and, if he can run to his best, in which he’s the highest rated runner in the field, he could have too many gears for Double Or Bubble. 

PERIPATETIC (best price 13/8) is taken to beat her two rivals here. Her form is working out well, particularly her third at Salisbury when just behind Rousay, who’s won a Listed event since, and this filly wasn’t disgraced when runner-up to Sea On Time when last spotted. She might be able to dictate matters in this small-field scenario, so if William Buick can judge the fractions right, she looks more than capable of beating Speak, who needs improvement to beat this daughter of Ulysses.
