Leg 1 Selections: Cappananty Con, Daring Quest
CAPPANANTY CON hasn’t won since early last year but his course record is really good, as he’s never run a bad race here, especially in this grade. He is fourteen pounds below his last winning mark and has finished runner-up three times here this year off higher marks, including last time. With lots going for him, he should prove capable of going well in the opener. DARNG QUEST, another course winner, has gone close here the last two times and the assessor has left him on the same mark for today’s assignment. He surely has more to come and is drawn effectively in stall six, so he has to merit consideration in what is an open race to start proceedings.

Leg 2 Selections: Harry Brown
The David Simcock-trained HARRY BROWN has yet to win in four starts but has shaped promisingly in reaching the frame in reach of those and makes his polytrack debut in this thin-looking race. He failed to justify odds-on favouritism on his penultimate start but he’s still the clear form pick of those with experience and it would be disappointing if he couldn’t go close to capitalising on this excellent opportunity under the services of Luke Morris in leg two. His main danger is probably Sporting Hero, who should take a step forward from his debut fifth and make his presence felt.

Leg 3 Selections: Queen Of Uplands
A good sprint-nursery event for leg three, in which I like the look of QUEEN OF UPLANDS for the Tom Dascombe team. This filly brings a good level of form to the table, courtesy of her fifth on debut that has been advertised by the second and third, Woolhampton and Strawberry Belle, who acquitted themselves well in defeat in a valuable auction stakes race at Newmarket over the weekend. Her latest third behind All The Time at Chester is another bit of decent form too, so provided the drop back in distance does the trick on this surface, she could pull out more to take the spoils under Pierre Louis Jamin, who offsets three-pounds.

Leg 4 Selections: Naval College
NAVAL COLLEGE ran a race full of promise when fourth on debut at Nottingham and chased home the highly-progressive Missed The Cut next time, who’s handsomely boosted the form since. This son of Dartmouth improved for the step up in trip when runner-up at Yarmouth behind Baltic Bird and a reproduction of that effort in this race could see Sir Michael Stoute's charge make it fourth time lucky with Ryan Moore in the saddle for the first time. He is drawn well in stall three too, so it’s difficult to see him out of the frame. Lion’s Dream made a lovely winning debut at Chelmsford though and should improve here.

Leg 5 Selections: Noble Peace, Jade Country
NOBLE PEACE loves this place. He is a six-time course winner, who’s been knocking on the door again of late, and he is now six-pounds below his last winning mark which came at this course over slightly further. The nine-year-old should relish the return to this shorter trip back on this surface at his favourite venue and should have a say in the outcome. JADE COUNTRY has shown promise in quite a few of his starts and came close to winning here behind two 77-rated rivals after a four months break just over two weeks ago. He is a player off the same mark at this level.

Leg 6 Selections: I Doubt That, Humaniste
I DOUBT THAT has won two of his four starts this year and while he’s been hit with a seven-pounds rise for winning easily at Kempton last time by three lengths, that shouldn’t prevent Jimmy Fox’s charge from going close in this race. HUMANISTE is very lightly-raced for his age and has been thereabouts the last two times off lenient marks. If the seven-year-old takes to this surface, from his good draw in stall 1, he could easily hit the frame at large odds here under Frederick Larson, who takes off a valuable five-pounds to help matters.
