Leg 1 Selections: Jamie Bond, Squealer

JAMIE BOND showed plenty of speed when third at Pontefract last time and should play a leading role here given he’s likely to be up with the pace early doors. SQUEALER ran very well to finish sixth here two weeks ago in a Listed event and should prove hard to beat back down in grade.

Leg 2 Selections: The Organiser, Lucky Man

THE ORGANISER ran well from a tough handicap mark on handicap debut at Windsor in June and retains promise based on his impressive win over track and trip on debut last year. He could go well on stable debut for these connections; while LUCKY MAN has finished second both times over course-and-distance and should be involved in the outcome.

Leg 3 Selections: Primo Bacio

PRIMO BACIO was only beaten a couple of lengths in a Group Two last time at Newbury and was an impressive winner at this course at this level last year. She is very capable when at her best and perhaps the return to this venue will rekindle her best. If she does that, she has to be a major player back down in this grade over this more suitable distance.

Leg 4 Selections: Paddy’s Day

The Charlie Hills-trained PADDY’S DAY made a winning debut at Windsor in May and hasn’t been disgraced in finishing midfield at Royal Ascot and Goodwood the last two times. This race appears to be a lot easier and he should have plenty more to come in the fourth leg with Kevin Stott booked to ride.

Leg 5 Selections: Justus, The Predictor

JUSTUS hasn’t fired in two subsequent starts since finishing second back in March but he looks well-treated off 78 and could go well under the guidance of Ben Curtis. THE PREDICTOR deservedly got off the mark last time and while this race is deeper, there’s a chance he could use that victory as a booster to gain further success in this race in leg five.

Leg 6 Selections: Fourth Time Lucky

I am going to take a chance on one at a big price here in the shape of FOURTH TIME LUCKY, who has mostly performed with credit in defeat in a lot of handicaps and should be suited to stepping up in distance. He is drawn well in stall five and has an excellent claimer taking off five pounds too. It’s possible he could make the frame in this open contest.
