Leg 1 Selections: Sophosc

SOPHOSC is decent on the Flat and did very well to make a winning hurdles debut back in May despite being badly hampered at a crucial stage of the contest. Since that victory, he’s won twice on the Flat, including at Southwell last time, and Ian Williams’ charge has loads more to come in this sphere. He can take the opener.

Leg 2 Selections: Ragamuffin, El Borracho

RAGAMUFFIN has been unbelievably consistent for nearly two years now in which he’s only been out of the frame once in his last nineteen starts, which is some feat. He’s translated his hurdles form to this sphere with three wins and four seconds from seven starts and is the one to beat off bottom-weight here. EL BORRACHO has won his last two starts in this sphere, however, and is the main danger.

Leg 3 Selections: Solstalla, Choral Work

SOLSTALLA shaped with encouragement after a long absence when fourth at Worcester back in June and given she won this race two years ago, there’s every chance she might be able to reclaim her title. CHORAL WORK ran poorly on handicap debut when last spotted but she retains some potential based on her previous win and three seconds. She could bounce back to form here.

Leg 4 Selections: Vision Des Flos

VISION DES FLOS was high-class in his prime and while his record has been inconsistent in recent years, the nine-year-old absolutely bolted up in this race twelve months ago off this exact mark. He went close back over hurdles last month in a deepish race and, with that run under his belt, this talented individual can go close to winning this for the second consecutive year.

Leg 5 Selections: Organdi, El Paso Wood

ORGANDI turned in her best effort of the year when third at Worcester last time in a slightly harder race and while she is still way above his last winning mark, she should go well back down in grade. EL PASO WOOD is at the top of his game at the moment and having won back-to-back events in recent weeks, he should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick despite this being a much stiffer task than his two recent wins.

Leg 6 Selections: Eureu Du Boulay

EUREU DY BOULAY has run very well the last twice and could benefit from the adjustment of headgear here. Richard Hobson’s charge should take some catching if he gets into a nice fluent jumping rhythm from the front. He is ten-pounds below his last winning mark, so the eight-year-old is handicapped to be extremely competitive here.
