Leg 1 Selections: Garden Route, Like A Tiger

GARDEN ROUTE is related to some classy types, including Group 1 winners, and with Ryan Moore booked to ride, a big run could be expected. I also like the look of LIKE A TIGER, who’s also very well-bred and could be a leading player for the James Ferguson team. This race should prove to be informative and I think one of the suggestions will make the frame.

Leg 2 Selections: Bold Act

BOLD ACT has progressed with each start and has won back-to-back events since finishing second on debut. His trainer Charlie Appleby has won this race three times in the last nine years, so with plenty more improvement to come and with William Buick opting for him over stablemate One Nation, this son of New Approach is fancied to land the hat-trick.

Leg 3 Selections: Azure Blue, Crazy Luck

AZURE BLUE is a really tough filly, who has won two of her five starts this year and has run well in defeat in the other three. She came from well off the pace to finish fourth at York last-time-out and that form has substance given the winner Lucky Man subsequently finished fourth in the Ayr Gold Cup. Open to improvement, this filly can regain the winning thread. CRAZY LUCK is easing down the weights and wasn’t disgraced when fourth at Salisbury last time. She could make an impact here.

Leg 4 Selections: Holloway Boy, Nostrum

HOLLOWAY BOY returned an impressive winner of the Chesham on debut at Royal Ascot before excellent second to Marbaan in Vintage Stakes at Goodwood in July. He’s had a small break since and is the one to beat. NOSTRUM had shaped with tons of potential and promise when winning on debut and, with more to come, he could go very close here. This is a tough puzzle to solve despite just the four runners.

Leg 5 Selections: Thunderous, Ranch Hand

THUNDEROUS has been in great form this year and following a string of solid efforts in defeat against high-class opponents, he ran a huge race fifth under a big weight in a handicap at the York Ebor meeting last month. He should prove hard to beat here. RANCH HAND was last of four last time but he’s a course-and-distance winner and it’ll be interesting to see what the market speaks of him here.

Leg 6 Selections: Dhahabi

DHAHABI couldn’t lay a glove on Adayar at Doncaster two weeks ago but this race is easier and this trip could suit him given he’s related to Golden Horn. He has a monster weight to carry but he’s got some solid form in the book and William Buick rides him too. He is also a pound lower than when chasing home Magical Morning on his penultimate start, which is solid form, so he should be competitive here.
