Which trip will end up being her optimum only time will tell, but the one thing that is for sure is she has a particularly high cruising speed and that ability to travel well at this sort of level is crucial. Therefore, with a good break from stall one, she should end up being in the perfect spot to strike turning for home.

Mickey The Steel arguably arrives here with the best form, but he’s also a longstanding 24-race maiden who must have surely sent his set of connections’ hair grey by now, so with that in mind, it makes sense to look towards one of the more unexposed members of the line-up and GREEK FLOWER (best price 6/1) fits the bill.

Promising on her first two starts despite not quite seeing out the trip on each occasion, the daughter of Australia was understandably dropped back down significantly to five-furlong at Down Royal last time and if she would have received anything like a clear run in the latter stages, there’s little doubt she would have justified the experiment.

Whether six furlongs ends up being her optimum only time will tell, but it is worth pointing out she was a smooth winner of a barrier trial over seven here in August, so the combination of track experience added to the pace she showed last time should prove to be a potent force.
