Promising on her first two starts, Joseph O’Brien’s filly was well backed to make it third time lucky at the Kerry venue but after being broadsided and knocked back through the field coming out of the gates, things didn’t look overly promising as the runners went passed the stands. However, she gradually worked herself into a better position at the home turn and it was from that point onwards when her stamina really kicked in to play.

Staying on strongly in the final two furlongs, she gradually pulled clear of her main market rivals with the second and third both going on to win since, the form looks solid. Even though handed a mark of 81, it wouldn’t have been a massive surprise if connections had decided to aim for some black type with the daughter of Australia, but the fact they are more than happy to build up to that moment via the handicap route suggests it was too good an opportunity to miss.

SUNDAYINMAY (best price 3/1) ran a particularly pleasing race on her first start for 114 days at Wolverhampton last time out and now returning to the scene of one of her previous victories, William Knight’s filly rates a strong choice to back up the view she remains a well-treated horse.

Slightly disappointing on her previous outing on turf at Salisbury, the daughter of Pastorius was on something of a retrieval mission at the Dunstall Park venue and, in what turned out to be a very competitive and well-run affair 19 days ago she ended patching up more than a few cracks. Looking one of the most likelier winners travelling well turning out of the back straight, it was at that point when the positively-ridden Typewritten made a bold bid for glory and although the four-year-old filly did her best to make up the lost deficit, she couldn’t quite get back on terms.

That said, the numbers from the race, both overall and final circuit sectionals suggest it was a fair effort by the front pair and having missed a potentially decent opportunity back at the same track last night to come here against her own sex instead, the hint should be taken.
