Leg 1 Selections: Ho Que Oui, White Hart Lady

HO QUE QUI left her previous form behind when winning smoothly on chase debut ten days ago and she is the one to beat with more to come. I wouldn’t rule out WHITE HART LADY, who was highly tried in bumpers, and has made the frame at worst in her last four starts. She’s an interesting participant on chase debut and could pose the biggest threat to the favourite.

Leg 2 Selections: Autonomous Cloud, Kayf Hernando

Fergal O’Brien has three in this and out of the trio, I am drawn to the claims of AUTONOMOUS CLOUD. A good winner on his bumper debut, he posted three solid efforts in defeat in all three starts over hurdles earlier this year and connections have wasted no time in sending him straight over fences here. I’ll be surprised if he can’t surpass his opening mark of 116, especially with his best days certainly ahead of him.

Dan Skelton’s KAYF HERNANDO is another interesting chase debutant, who’s tackled good opposition since winning on his hurdles debut and has been given a lenient-looking mark of 110, while an additional five-pounds can be taken off that too with a top claimer booked to ride. He gets into this race off a nice weight and has the potential to be pretty useful over fences.

Leg 3 Selections: Not Available

A good race, where a few of these could easily be considered but NOT AVAILABLE could surprise a few at big odds here. He was well-held on his return over track and trip last month but he defied higher marks twice last year when landing back-to-back events at Newbury and Ludlow. He’s likely to be given an attacking ride under Stan Shepherd here, which sees him to best effect, and with a good record when the ground has good in it, he could be tough to overhaul off a mark he’s capable of exploiting when at his best.

Leg 4 Selections: Fuji Rocks, Skiddaw

FUJI ROCKS shaped with a lot of promise when third at Perth last month on debut and, with that experience under his belt, he could take some beating here. SKIDDAW is from a good family that has produced multiple winners and Philip Hobbs debutante could go very well for a stable who does very well in bumpers on a regular basis.

Leg 5 Selections: Fairy Gem

This race should prove informative. Harry Fry’s FAIRY GEM overcame a poor track position to make a winning debut in a bumper last December before an excellent second in a Listed event at Cheltenham next time. She then ran well when third in another Listed event on her final start of the campaign and is an exciting mare for this division this season. With the pedigree to be smart, she makes plenty of appeal on hurdles debut.

Leg 6 Selections: You Wear It Well

This can go to the promising YOU WEAR IT WELL, who ran a good race in defeat when runner-up on Ludlow bumper debut and confirmed that promise when going one better next time. She looks a smart prospect going forward and with lots more to come, she should be up to winning this on her hurdles debut.
