Leg 1 Selections: Chianti Classico
CHIANTI CLASSICO wasn’t disgraced in that Grade Two bumper at Aintree and appeals as the type to do better over obstacles. Kim Bailey has started to hit a decent run of form with a couple of winners over the last few days and this five-year-old is his only runner at the Welsh venue, while David Bass has his only ride on the card for his boss. He should go well.

Leg 2 Selections: Leading Choice
A race that could prove informative. LEADING CHOICE won in his debut and wasn’t disgraced when fifth in a good Listed event at Cheltenham next time. He looks a nice prospect for the Nicky Martin team and despite being off for a long time, he could be ready for this assignment and it’s hard to see him out of the frame with a good round of jumping here.

Leg 3 Selections: Earth Business
EARTH BUSINESS opened his account in good style when fitted with first-time cheekpieces at Exeter back in February and then made Fair Frontieres pull out all the stops back at the same venue next time. The winner was last seen running well to finish sixth in a Grade One at Aintree, so the form has a nice look to it, and he should be better for his return effort too.

Leg 4 Selections: Gentle Connections
GENTLE CONNECTIONS won four on the spin between April and June and although she was out of her fourth when well beaten in the Persian War here last time, she will appreciate the significant ease in grade. She goes into this handicap on a fair mark and her rider takes off a valuable five pounds too. Rose Of Arcadia will be hard to beat but the former won’t go down without a fight and should be thereabouts.

Leg 5 Selections: Keplerian, Walkinthewoods
KEPLERIAN has a nice pedigree and having showed a lot of promise for Nick Williams, he makes his stable debut off a nice mark. He could be a serious player in this race. I wouldn’t rule out WALKINTHEWOODS, who’s been solid in defeat the last three times and could go well with lots more to come for Evan Williams.

Leg 6 Selections: Margaret’s Legacy
MARGARET’S LEGACY ran well behind Sel Jem twice last year in Dieppe and Auteuil, who subsequently won the Grade 1 Grand Steeple-chase De Paris to boost the form. Opening handicap chase mark in the UK of 121 looks extremely lenient and he gets into this race off a nice weight. He’s having his first start for Tim Vaughan and his only previous start in the UK saw him contest the Grade Two Adonis last year over hurdles when trained by his previous handler.
