Leg 1 Selections: Sicario

SICARIO has made the frame in all three starts in slightly better company since coming over from Ireland and a claimer has been booked to ride who takes off five pounds. He wasn’t disgraced when second here last month and his trainer often does well on the all-weather with his runners, so he should go close in the opener.

Leg 2 Selections: The Big Board

THE BIG BOARD often front-runs and that will suit around here, especially being drawn in the box seat in stall one. She’s been runner-up three times in succession since winning at Leicester and should be able to cope with the drop back in distance. If she can translate her turf form to this surface, she should prove very hard to beat here.

Leg 3 Selections: Hadley Park

HADLEY PARK recorded an emphatic success at Chelmsford over the weekend on handicap debut and although he’s under a penalty in this race, he must have every chance of following up if turned out quickly. He is drawn wide in stall ten which isn’t ideal but this isn’t a strong race and he should be able to get himself into the frame at the very least.

Leg 4 Selections: Irregular Warfare

The Roger Varian-trained IRREGULAR WARFARE was an expensive yearling and shaped with a lot of promise when second to a subsequent Group Three winner on debut at Yarmouth. The pair pulled well clear of the third and this son of Saxon Warrior should have lots more to come here. He is also drawn nicely in stall five, so he’s very hard to overlook in this winnable race.

Leg 5 Selections: Red Hat Eagle

RED HAT EAGLE ran a promising race when third 11 days ago on debut and his performance can be upgraded as he fared best of the newcomers in that race. He is open to plenty of improvement and is drawn well in stall three too. Neil Callan maintains the partnership and, with that run under his belt, he should be thereabouts.

Leg 6 Selections: Repartee, Unsung Hero

REPARTEE hasn’t won since landing a Listed race back in 2020 but he ran well the last time he was seen on the all-weather and drops into a class five for the first time in his career. Despite shouldering top-weight, he could go well on his return under Graham Lee. UNSUNG HERO has progressed well since returning to the all-weather and seeks a hat-trick. He’s gone up nine pounds from his last success but should be competitive.
