Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's action at Chelmsford.
Leg 1 Selections: Pure Motion, Unplugged
Andrew Balding’s PURE MOTION has improved with each start and ran a tidy race when third at Southwell last time in a class five event. This is easier, as she drops into a class six for the first time and should have more to come over this longer trip on handicap debut. Of the rest, UNPLUGGED wasn’t beaten far in this grade last time and has place possibilities.
Leg 2 Selections: Capital Theory
CAPITAL THEORY is the one to beat. He brings some of the best form to the table and ran well from the front when third at Southwell when last spotted. William Buick has been booked to ride and he’s fancied to get his head in front here, though Mayfair Gold is his biggest danger on the back of a good second to an odds-on favourite last-time-out.
Leg 3 Selections: Idee Fixee, The Menstone Gem
IDEE FIXEE might have been let in here lightly on his handicap debut. Jane Chapple Hyam’s charge has finished runner-up in all three starts to date and her runners are going very well at the moment too. With a lot more to offer, this son of Dubawi could be a big player here. THE MENSTONE GEM has a good record on the all-weather with figures reading 12213 and wasn’t beaten far at Wolverhampton last time. He makes the shortlist here.
Leg 4 Selections: Kodiac Sign, Lost In Time
KODIAC SIGN failed to settle when last of five last time at Yarmouth but he had previously run well on both starts on the all-weather, including when fourth over course-and-distance and could go well. LOST IN TIME is well-treated based on his form from two years ago and has mostly run well this year. He could run a big race from an appealing mark here.
Leg 5 Selections: Sense Of Security
SENSE OF SECURITY appreciated the combination of a drop in trip combined with a breathing operation when a strong-finishing second last month and has only gone up a pound as a result which is lenient. She’s drawn well stall six and should be able to build on that effort here, so she should be thereabouts.
Leg 6 Selections: Admirable Lad
ADMIRABLE LAD could hardly be in better form and has won his last three starts, including over this course-and-distance on his penultimate outing when winning with plenty to spare. He’s been given the box-seat in stall one and has every chance of completing the four-timer here.
