Leg 1 Selections: Another Angel, My Boy Jack
ANOTHER ANGEL hasn’t won for over two years but he’s fallen to a nice mark as a result, which is twelve pounds below his last winning mark. A claimer who takes off five-pound has been booked to ride and he could bounce back for a stable that is in very good form of late (three winners and two placed in last five runners). He could go well at large odds here.
MY BOY JACK has been knocking on the door lately and was probably committed a bit sooner than ideal when caught in the final few strides at Newcastle a month ago. He is essentially off the exact same mark here though and he’s been granted a good draw in stall two, so it would come as no surprise were he to finally get his head in front in this race.

Leg 2 Selections: Spanish Angel, Big Impact
SPANISH ANGEL won at this course last year off a fifteen pounds higher mark and returned to form with a good second last-time-out at Chelmsford when only caught in the closing stages. If able to put in a similar shift here, Ruth Carr’s charge is handicapped to have a say in the outcome of this moderate contest.
BIG IMPACT also has course winning form in the book due to winning here on his penultimate start and while he failed to match that form when down the field last time, he could be helped by the application of cheekpieces here. He should be suited to the drop back in distance and should be thereabouts.

Leg 3 Selections: Burena
This isn’t a strong pace by any means, so it could pay to to side with the experienced BURENA here, who has shaped with a lot of promise in both starts to date, finishing her race strongly on each occasion to suggest she has a race of this nature within her compass. Unless one of the newcomers turn out to be above-average, this filly should be able to make her presence felt and potentially take the spoils.

Leg 4 Selections: Fast Danseuse, Guitar
FAST DANSEUSE has still yet to get a win under her belt but she’s gone close on numerous occasions and wasn’t beaten far when a staying-on third of 16 at Chelmsford last-time-out. A repeat of that display could be enough to see her deservedly come out on top in this pretty weak race.
GUITAR finds himself two-pounds lower than when winning here back in January and went very close off this mark when last spotted when third at Lingfield. He gets the services of Luke Morris in the saddle this time and Martin Smith’s charge is well drawn in stall three. He should easily make the frame here.

Leg 5 Selections: Shabs
SHABS is in very good form at the moment despite his win ratio not justifying the performances he has produced in defeat. He went close at Newcastle when last spotted when beaten just a neck into second and this race looks slightly weaker, so if Luke Morris can get another fine tune out of him like last time, he could go one place better here.

Leg 6 Selections: Lord Paramount
Roger Varian’s LORD PARAMOUNT couldn’t land the odds when heavily supported in the betting last time but he did run well considering he was only caught inside the final furlong having travelled the best and that was his first start in ten months too. Jack Mitchell might hold onto him a bit longer here and, if he’s able to get another soft lead and control matters, he should be able to get off the mark this time.
