Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's action at Lingfield.
12:20 Lingfield
Leg 1 Selections: Militry Decoration, Smith
MILITRY DECORATION ran a really solid race when third at Kempton last time and was slightly unfortunate not to finish closer as he was hampered two furlongs from the finish. He finished second at Newbury a few months ago off a two-pounds higher mark, so he’s not badly treated and he should be thereabouts.
SMITH is a four-time course-and-distance winner and has won four of his last five starts here. He is drawn well in stall three and could be a solid choice to at least make the frame.

Leg 2 Selections: Justcallmepete, Show Me A Sunset
JUSTCALLMEPETE finds himself only two-pound higher than when successful on his handicap debut back in March and wasn’t beaten far when third last time here over seven-furlongs. He might have even won that race without a sluggish start and being impeded shortly afterwards too.
The blinkers are enlisted this time round plus the drop in trip should suit. He is one to consider, while SHOW ME A SUNSET was never in a good position when only seventh at Southwell last time but is a pound below his last winning mark and is ideally drawn in stall four, so he’s not one to discount.

Leg 3 Selections: Maso Bastie
MASO BASTIE shaped with a lot of promise when coming from off the pace to be nearest the finish in fourth on debut. This son of Churchill is no doubt going to improve a lot from that performance and he should be able to get a better start here too. William Buick has been booked to do the steering and the step up in trip looks a positive move. It would be a surprise were he not able to run a big race here.

Leg 4 Selections: Split Elevens, Evasive Power
SPLIT ELEVENS has a good record at this course which reads 354312 and is only a couple of pounds above his last winning mark. He was narrowly beaten on his last visit here and ran a good race when third at Kempton last time, where he kept on strongly in the closing stages.
He is a player in this race, while EVASIVE POWER is twenty-pounds lower than when successful at Epsom last year and hasn’t been beaten far in each of his last three starts. If stall 11 doesn’t prove to be an issue, he could go well with Grace McEntee taking off three-pounds.
14:25 Lingfield
Leg 5 Selections: Cruella De Vill
The experience of CRUELLA DE VILL could count for plenty here as she bids to make it fourth time lucky for connections. A respectable eighth on debut at Newbury in a race that has worked out well, she’s finished runner-up in both starts since, including on her all-weather debut last time when marginally denied by a head.
The return to this longer distance should prove favourable and whilst a lot of the remainder bring considerable potential to the table, John Gosden’s filly should still be competitive with her experience to draw upon here.

Leg 6 Selections: Pistoletto, Blow Your Horn
PISTOLETTO has a good record on the all-weather, especially at this course, as all of his wins here have been off higher marks in higher-grade events, while his last win at this venue was off a ten-pounds higher mark in a class-three event. His fourth of nine over course-and-distance off a mark of 94 back in June reads strong form in the context of this easier race. He is drawn well in stall six and gets on well with Darragh Keenan, so this son of War Front must have a good chance of at least hitting the frame off top-weight from what is a career-low mark.
As a second option, for backup purposes, BLOW YOUR HORN could be the one to surprise a few with fewer units expected to be on him. He won off a mark of 83 last year and is now eight-pounds lower, whilst he wasn’t beaten far in this grade last time. He’s subsequently joined Ian Williams and Ben Sanderson takes off a valuable three-pounds, so there’s possibility about the five-year-old posing a threat here.
