Leg 1 Selections: Isle Of Wolves, Billy Bathgate

In leg one, ISLE OF WOLVES remains on the same mark as when second last time and could be the answer with a similar showing here. He made the frame multiple times in 2020 off a lot higher marks, as all three were off marks of 70 or higher. He should, at the very least, be thereabouts off a mark of 64 in this event.

BILLY BATHGATE posted a solid effort when second at Wolverhampton last time despite having to race wide throughout and has only been nudged up a pound. Sam James might try to race him closer to the pace in this and, with improvement forthcoming, this son of New Approach shouldn’t be far away here.

Leg 2 Selections: Unplugged

UNPLUGGED has shaped better than the bare result on each of his last three starts and should get a nice pace to aim at here. He has previously won off a higher mark and the first-time visor could be a good move. Drawn well in stall three with Joanna Mason booked to ride, this six-year-old looks capable of a big performance if everything clicks into place in leg two.

Leg 3 Selections: Beggarmans Road

BEGGARSMAN ROAD is likely to improve a lot from his eye-catching debut fourth at Wolverhampton, where he came from off the pace to be nearest the finish. Karl Burke’s inmate is sure to use that experience to produce an even bigger effort here, so he’s fancied to get the better of his nearest market rival with his stable very much amongst the winners of late.

Leg 4 Selections: Brewing, Beattie Is Back

BREWING is unbeaten in two starts and might have been given a lenient mark ahead of his handicap debut here. He won over track and trip on his debut and while the form of his latest win is nothing special, he is the one to beat with the ceiling of his ability not yet reached. I like his chances with this excellent claimer remaining in the saddle too.

The Richard Fahey-trained BEATTIE IS BACK could be his main danger though, who resumed winning ways last-time-out at Wolverhampton and has won over today’s course-and-distance too. He has to be considered a big player in leg four under a penalty in this race with Zak Wheatley taking off a handy five-pounds.

Leg 5 Selections: Straits Of Moyle, Westmorian

STRAITS OF MOYLE has gained all three of his wins on the turf but he ran very well when sixth of 13 over course-and-distance last time and has a lower mark to contend with here. Richard Fahey’s charge is also back on his last winning mark, so he should be competitive if able to build on that effort here.

WESTMORIAN secured a first-career success when last spotted and his mark remains very fair back in a handicap on the balance of that form. He should have more to come and gets the vote to potentially follow-up in this race.

Leg 6 Selections: Megan Moon

MEGAN MOON shaped with a lot of promise when fourth on debut at Southwell and would have finished even closer without blowing the start. That was an excellent effort under the circumstances and, with a lot more to come from Roger Varian’s filly, she can put that experience to good use and take the spoils under Cameron Noble.
