Back to the Midland venue on his most recent outing, the five-year-old was heavily involved in what turned out to be an extremely strongly run race for the grade, so even though he may have disappointed many by not getting the job done as favourite, the bottom line is he ran about as well as he physically could under the circumstances.
On a positive note, at least that effort six days ago proved he stays a well-run extended 1m1f well and with another decent gallop looking like the order of the day for the second time in succession, this consistent performer should play major role.

BURABACK (NAP) (best price 7/2) has run pretty well in two extremely hot races for the grade on his last two starts and with today’s contest nowhere near as good in terms of quality and depth, it would come as a major shock if Jessica Macey’s gelding didn’t play a significant role in the final outcome.
Having his first outing at today’s venue two starts ago, the son of Buratino didn’t fare too badly in a race noted for its strong time figure and he went on to better that performance in an even smokier affair at Southwell next time.
Posted out on the wing in stall 13, the four-year-old was dropped out by design in order to give him some chance of being competitive and as it turned out, those patient tactics enabled him to finish off his race well to snatch a creditable fourth late in the piece.
Unable to quite match the turn of foot showed by the likes of Eligible and Anif – two quality handicappers at the Colwick Park venue in recent times – he did, however, record the sort of numbers belying a horse of his rating and now dropped in grade to face Class 6 company for the first time since joining new connections, today’s contest provides him with a golden opportunity to get back on the winning thread.
