Leg 1 Selections: Jubilee Girl, Raiff, Ehteyat

A tricky race for leg one, so I am putting three on the list to ensure we get through the race (we hope). JUBILEE GIRL has improved with each start and makes her handicap debut off a lenient mark of 65 here. This filly by Nathaniel is worthy of respect, while RAIFF went close when second here last time and should be thereabouts. EHTEYAT bolted up on handicap debut last time and could follow-up with a similar performance here.

Leg 2 Selections: Razoni

Self Aclaim built on his debut third when beating an odds-on favourite back at Wolverhampton next time and probably sets the standard here. However, he will have to concede a lot of weight to RAZONI, who flew home from an unpromising position to finish a head-second at Wolverhampton on debut and will know more about his job here. Given the weight differential and more to come, George Boughey’s charge can make the most of that here.

Leg 3 Selections: Foinix

FOINIX will be turned out pretty quickly but he has to be the most reliable option in leg three. Gay Kelleway’s charge matched his Southwell second when a close-up third two days ago. He wouldn’t need to improve much more on that effort to go one better here. Downtown Dubai was disappointing two days ago, so he will do well to beat the former, who’s trainer is in excellent form too.

Leg 4 Selections: Fox Tal, Intuitive

FOX TAL is very quirky but has a lot of talent and goes well fresh. He beat a good horse in the shape of Kenzai Warrior around this time last year on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and is drawn well in stall 1 here. He looks set to play a leading role, while INTUITIVE is well-treated and has twice finished second in this grade off higher marks. His trainer can do no wrong of late, so this could be the time this seven-year-old returns to the winners enclosure.

Leg 5 Selections: Burtonwood, Epeius

This is the most difficult race on the pool but BURTONWOOD was unlucky not to win at Chelmsford last time and gets into this race off the same mark. He is drawn wide but a repeat of his latest effort could see him go one better; while EPEIUS is another outsider to consider. He is a four-time winner over course-and-distance and has run respectively in his last five starts. He could easily make the frame at large odds and eliminate some units.

Leg 6 Selections: After John, Highjacked

AFTER JOHN has been at the top of his game in recent weeks and goes in search of a four timer in this race. All of his last three wins have been over course-and-distance and has to be of strong interest in his bid to win again here. Of the others, HIGHJACKED was runner-up over track and trip when last spotted and is only a pound above his last winning mark, so he could also make an impact in leg six.
