Silver Nightfall will prove hard to beat if she returns to the form of her debut second but she needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort at Newmarket 98 days ago and therefore preference goes to the ORIGINALLY (best priced at 11/10) who made an encouraging debut at Lingfield a month ago. The John Butler trained colt outran odds of 22/1 to finish 3rd over 7f where he was only beaten ¾ length at the finish.

Originally showed lots of inexperience throughout the race (was slowly away, ran green and hung right late on) but stayed on strongly in the final stages of the race to finish a never nearer 3rd beaten less than a length. He should prove a lot more streetwise in this race and I expect him to prove hard to beat under Daniel Muscutt.

Originally - 1pt @ 11/10

The Declan Queally trained DESERT HEATHER (best priced at 5/1) can hopefully make her experience count in this mares maiden hurdle and build on her recent 2nd in a similar event. The seven-year-old won three PTPs in a row at the end of the last year before finishing a close 2nd at Limerick in December.

Desert Heather was only beaten 1 ¾ lengths that day against the boys and she now returns to mares company in this race. Connections now fit her with a first time visor so she shouldn’t be ‘running for a mark’ and I expect her to put it up to the short priced favourite Hauturiere.

Desert Heather - 0.5pts e/w @ 5/1

Dingle is respected on his second start for Julie Camacho but preference goes to FAST STYLE (best priced at 4/1) who won over this course and distance on his stable debut for Mick Appleby. The four-year-old won on his final start for Roger Charlton before pulling up on both of his starts over hurdles for Sam Allwood. He defied odds of 16/1 to win on his reappearance over this course and distance off a mark of 69 before finishing a neck 2nd at Wolverhampton on his next start off a mark of 74.

The handicapper has raised Fast Style 1lb for that effort up to rating of 75 but he instead runs here off a mark of 71 making him 4lbs “well in” at the weights. Kevin Stott looks a good booking and I expect him to prove hard to beat from Stall 8.

Fast Style - 1pt @ 4/1
