Leg 1 Selections: Percy Wallis, Bugle Major
Not an easy opener to solve but PERCY WILLIS has fallen to an attractive mark and ran a solid race at Wolverhampton three days ago. He won over course-and-distance around this time last year and should remain competitive in leg 1 from a mark that isn’t out of reach.
BUGLE MAJOR is very quirky and far from straightforward but all of his wins and placed efforts have been off higher marks and Archie Watson’s charge was runner-up twice in December off slightly higher marks at Wolverhampton. Drawn well in stall two with a good claimer booked to ride, he could go well.

Leg 2 Selections: Run Teddy Run, Odd Socks Havana, Big Dutchie
RUN TEDDY RUN has a hefty penalty to carry in leg 2 but Karl Burke’s charge has been in fine form of late and having won in consecutive starts at Southwell, he was unlucky when a short-head second at the course last time in his hat-trick attempt. Nonetheless, he is up against a moderate field and could be tough to beat.
ODD SOCKS HAVANA won off a two pounds higher mark over track and trip last February and ran a solid race when third at Wolverhampton last-time-out. He is a player off the same mark here, while BIG DUTCHIE has been knocking on the door of late and should go close with a repeat of his latest fourth here.

Leg 3 Selections: Comedian Leader, Twilight Jazz
COMEDIAN LEADER made it two wins from her last three starts at Southwell 11 days ago, which was a career-best performance, and although she has to carry a penalty, she has an excellent claimer in the saddle again here. She is the one to beat in leg 3, while TWILIGHT JAZZ was only beaten a neck here three days ago and appeals most of the rest with more to come off the same mark.

Leg 4 Selections: Colnago, Fox Master
COLNAGO has been expensive to follow so far in his career but ran a good race when fourth last time in a higher grade event and would only need to reproduce that form in this weaker event to have a say in the outcome. He deserves close attention, while the Roger Varian-trained FOX MASTER appeals most on paper of the debutants and could figure from a good draw in stall two here.

Leg 5 Selections: Atrafan
ATRAFAN won this race last year and has been in great form since the turn of the year, with a win and three seconds from four starts. He battled to a neck second last time and this race looks generally easier. He has been raised three pounds for that latest second but Ryan Sexton offsets the three and a lot of his rivals arrive into this race out of form. He can win this for a second time in leg 5.

Leg 6 Selections: Blackcurrent, Rose Bandite
BLACKCURRENT has won four times over course-and-distance and is a pound below his last winning mark at this course. He ran well when fourth here last time and has gone well after break in the past as well. With Ryan Sexton taking off three pounds, he needs to be taken seriously back at his favourite course in leg 6.
ROSE BANDITE arrives on a winless streak but went close over track and trip on his penultimate start and is operating from a really workable mark given her last win was off a much higher mark. Poppy Wilson takes off an additional seven pounds this mare is feared most in a race that won’t take a lot of winning either.
