Leg 1 Selections: Zonisty, Bella Madonna
The red-hot favourite ZONISTY is likely to take a lot of beating in the opener. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained five-year-old won over course-and-distance in November and matched that form under a penalty when second here the following month.
He has the potential to advance his form in this sphere and is the one to beat. BELLA MADONNA could be interesting, especially if the betting vibes about her are strong, so she is included for back-up purposes at large odds.

Leg 2 Selections: Mr Jack, Hello Bob
A wide-open contest for leg 2 but MR JACK is 15-pounds below his last winning mark and has won twice at this course. Both those wins were off marks of 96 and 100, so he is definitely well-treated at the moment and, with Freddie Gingell booked to ride, the 11-year-old could run very well with a lot in his favour.
HELLO BOB hasn’t got going so far this season but the eight-year-old gained her sole previous win off a 13-pounds higher mark and would have excellent claims if able to rediscover that form in this race. She is dropped in class from last time and therefore enters calculations.

Leg 3 Selections: Kansas Du Berlais
KANSAS DU BERLAIS couldn’t back-up his market expectations when only fourth on his stable debut but Gary Moore’s charge is worth another chance in this weak race.
He has undergone a wind operation since last time and is applied with a tongue-tie. He should prove tough to beat in leg 3 with that latest experience under his belt.

Leg 4 Selections: Scipion, Hudson De Grugy
Just the four runners, which restricts a top-two finish, but SCIPION has some useful form in the book and although he could only finish fourth when last spotted, Tom Lacey’s charge looks well-handicapped and could prove a different proposition with headgear enlisted for the first time.
HUDSON DE GRUGY won four times over hurdles and although he didn’t jump with any fluency on Boxing Day when last spotted, Gary Moore’s charge could improve for the fitting of a visor plus the six-year-old is seven-pounds lower than when gaining his last win, which was over hurdles. He is a contender.

Leg 5 Selections: Police Academy
POLICE ACADEMY could be the answer to this tricky race in leg 5. She has shaped with promise in both her hurdle starts and would have finished closer last time but for pitching on landing at the second last hurdle.
She is Oliver Sherwood’s only runner of the day and Johnny Burke has been booked to ride, so she has to be considered a major contender with more to offer.

Leg 6 Selections: Checkitout, Art Of Illusion
CHECKITOUT has been off the boil since winning at Fontwell last January but is eight-pounds below that mark now and made the frame off marks of 132 and 133 in a pair of Grade 3 events. If the visor sparks a revival, the nine-year-old has the class to beat these.
ART OF ILLUSION has been in good form this season and almost gained a third win in this sphere when marginally denied last time after a great battle with Sublime Heights. He has a good chance with more to come in leg 6.
