Leg 1 Selections: Krona, Grand Central, Foinix, Tollerton Forest

KRONA relished the step up in trip when running away with victory at Kempton last-time-out on handicap debut and, with further improvement on the cards, this filly is the one to beat. GRAND CENTRAL has put together three solid efforts of late and the longer trip could bring about improvement, while FOINIX and TOLLERTON FOREST add some spice to this difficult opener.

Leg 2 Selections: Monty Man, No Barrier

This race, leg 2, is also competitive but while MONTY MAN ran poorly last time, he won in good style on his penultimate start. He retains potential off this mark and could be thereabouts, though NO BARRIER makes his debut on this surface and the way he has stayed on strongly the last three times suggests the step up in trip will suit. He should be capable of better.

Leg 3 Selections: Roman Dynasty, Southwold, Beautiful Crown

ROMAN DYNASTY has to shoulder top-weight but he is generally seen in stronger events than this and has lots of placed efforts off higher marks. He could go well, as could SOUTHWOLD, who made a winking debut at Newcastle and backed that up with a respectable third last time. I will also add in BEAUTIFUL CROWN for leg 3, who is six pounds below his last winning mark and has gone close the last two times.

Leg 4 Selections: Savannah Smiles, Samba Lady

SAVANNAH SMILES looked badly in need of her experience when last of three on debut but ran well when second next time and wasn’t beaten far when fifth last time. Now tackling a longer trip, she could pose a threat on her handicap debut. SAMBA LADY went close back in December at Wolverhampton and could be set to go well from a good draw in stall two. She is becoming exposed but her experience should see her competitive once more.

Leg 5 Selections: Amy Santiago, Class Member

AMY SANTIAGO was very unlucky on her debut as she ran a remarkable race to finish second of 18 considering she was slow into stride and was short of room entering the final furlong before flying late. She could only finish sixth last time on her all-weather debut but remains a filly with potential and could go well. CLASS MEMBER shaped with bundles of promise when fourth on her debut at Wolverhampton and can make an impact with more to offer.

Leg 6 Selections: Goose Rock, Urban Dandy

George Scott’s GOOSE ROCK must have a good chance in this moderate contest. He returned a beaten favourite last time but the race was a dawdle and this should reveal more. URBAN DANDY scored over track and trip earlier this month and while the form has been let down by the runner-up since, he has an excellent chance to follow-up in leg 6.
