Leg 1 Selections: Just A Spark
This is a great opportunity for the short-price favourite JUST A SPARK to open her account, who has made the frame on each of her three starts, and brings the strongest form into the race.
The drop in distance shouldn’t pose any problem and it should in fact suit her well. She is the one to beat and it is difficult to see her out of the frame in the opener with more to come.

Leg 2 Selections: Tomahawk King, Little Edi
TOMAHAWK KING won with a bit more in hand then the neck winning margin indicated at Wolverhampton last time and, with the combination of more to come and a good draw in stall 1, he could follow-up.
LITTLE EDI could only finish fifth last time but some of his form reads well in the context of this race and Oisin Murphy rides. Richard Spencer’s charge could be thereabouts.

Leg 3 Selections: Burdett Road, Goldkit
BURDETT ROAD finished runner-up in two of his three starts for Roger Varian and ran well when fourth on his stable debut for Michael Bell last month despite the step up in trip not working the oracle.
This shorter trip looks favourable and he could play a leading role under James Doyle, though GOLDKIT only found one too good over track and trip last month. He could emerge as the biggest danger with more to be revealed here.

Leg 4 Selections: Smiling Sunflower, Lightship
SMILING SUNFLOWER has made a good start to this year, winning a higher graded race at Wolverhampton last month on stable debut for Mick Appleby and makes a lot of appeal on the same mark as when an unlucky third two weeks ago.
She was nearest the finish despite being slow into stride and not getting a clear passage when the race started to develop. LIGHTSHIP won over track and trip on handicap debut a fortnight ago and also has a chance.

Leg 5 Selections: Lady Loulou, Golden Glove
This is competitive but LADY LOULOU went close at Chelmsford on her penultimate start and finished with running left on her handicap debut when last seen in fourth. She could have a part to play off a pound lower mark.
GOLDEN GLOVE has put together a string of solid efforts in defeat, including on her first run of the year last time when third. Her mark has continued to slide and could pose a serious threat at large odds in this race.

Leg 6 Selections: Imperium, Aced It
IMPERIUM has four course-and-distance victories to his name, with the latest of those from off a two pounds higher mark. He could only finish fourth at Wolverhampton last time but is a lot better than that and the first-time blinkers could help him get back on track.
ACED IT won over course-and-distance two starts ago off only a couple of pounds lower mark and while he couldn’t supplement that performance back here last time, when denied a clear run, he still ran well in fourth and this race is slightly easier. He can be expected to be right in the mix.
