Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's action at Newcastle.
17:00 Newcastle
Leg 1 Selections: Qaasid, Dinoo
The two at the top of the market should have leg 1 between themselves. QAASID, a winner of two of his last three starts, won over track and trip two weeks ago and while he has crept back up in the weights, he should go close. DINOO has a consistent record on the all-weather and should give the former most to think about.

Leg 2 Selections: Crownthorpe, Umneyaat, Perfect Swiss
A competitive event for leg 2, but CROWNTHORPE is extremely well-treated at present and could spoil the rests party. The eight-year-old has won two of his last five starts and has won/placed off much higher marks over track and trip in the past. Ryan Sexton claims five-pounds and his mount should make his presence felt in this company.
UMNEYAAT ran below expectations at this course last time but based on her form when trained in Ireland, she must have excellent place possibilities in this. I’ll also add in the consistent PERFECT SWISS who has a great record at this course, especially at this level, and therefore cannot be discounted.

Leg 3 Selections: Piffle, Gracelands Girl
The Ed Walker-trained PIFFLE finally came good on the all-weather when winning at Wolverhampton just over two weeks ago. Her mark has only been raised a couple of pounds as a consequence and she could take some beating now she’s got that breakthrough success on the surface.
GRACELANDS GIRL has so far made the frame in six of her eight starts to date and wasn’t disgraced on her all-weather debut last time at Southwell. She is expected to take a step forward from that experience and is well-handicapped on the pick of her form. This could be the time she gets her head in front.

Leg 4 Selections: Shaw Park, Fade To Gray
I like the claims of SHAW PARK, whose recorded back-to-back seconds to date. He outran his large odds on debut at Wolverhampton and confirmed that promise at this course last time. He is upped in grade but has an obvious chance in leg 4.
Grant Tuer’s FADE TO GRAY was only a “head” behind the former here on debut last time and might have finished a clear second without being hampered at the start. He will have learnt a lot from that experience though, and has excellent claims with his stable amongst the winners.

Leg 5 Selections: Beneficiary, Tathmeen
Liam Bailey’s BENEFICIARY has some strong form at this course and his form figures over this trip here reads 3242 plus his latest second here was off this mark against subsequent winner Walking On Clouds. Solid place chance at the very least.
TATHMEEN is seen to best effect when a strong pace is on offer and that has been the case the last twice, in which he has won both starts in good style over course-and-distance. The hat-trick could firmly be on the cards given his current mood.

Leg 6 Selections: Snuggle
I would be hopeful SNUGGLE will at least finish in the first two, who pushed the useful Harry Brown really close last time when a “neck” second, and despite this race represents a drop in distance, Ed Walker’s charge is a major player with more to come. His form looks much stronger than Winter Crown's form, so he’s the sole pick in leg 6.
