Jumping and travelling well right from the outset, he set a tempo his only rival couldn’t match and with the overall time figure pinpointing why that turned out to be the case, a repeat of a similar performance from the front might be enough for him to pull off another giant killing act.

As things panned out at the Surrey venue 25 days ago, the four-year-old ended up being just too far back for him to land a blow at Unforgotten, but with the time of the race very good and the fourth, Gavi Di Gavi, going on to win next time, the form looks fairly watertight. 

Mindful that he can be a keen goer in the early part of his races, he will be grateful of a likely decent gallop set by the likes of Chief’s Will and Candy Warhol and providing he gets the breaks at the right time down the straight, he can play a pivotal role in the final outcome.
