Leg 1 Selections: Arabian King, Grandee

ARABIAN KING got going far too late when sixth at this course last time, so the return to this longer trip will suit and this former course winner won on his last start over two miles on the all-weather. He could run well, while GRANDEE has lots of form around this trip off higher marks and is handicapped to go close. He makes plenty of appeal at double-figure odds in the opener.

Leg 2 Selections: Erosion Risk, Crimson Angel

EROSION RISK has a lot of speed and was unfortunate to be marginally edged out at Wolverhampton last time when second. David Evans' charge has finished second in five of his last six starts and, assuming he gets another quick start, which is his biggest asset, Rossa Ryan might be able to steal this race from the front. CRIMSON ANGEL has been slow away in both starts but powered through the line to win last time and is greatly feared.

Leg 3 Selections: Coquelicot, Star Angel

COQUELICOT has been in great form over hurdles this season and she wasn’t disgraced in a valuable handicap last time. She ran well on her last start on the Flat to finish fourth at Nottingham and her trainer is in great form of late as well. With fitness no concern, she is a key player, though STAR ANGEL sets a good standard after three starts in Ireland and will prove popular. This filly is the most likely winner.

Leg 4 Selections: Street Kid, Persuasion

STREET KID has to shoulder top-weight but he’s mr consistent on the all-weather and has been running well in better company this year. He remains six pounds above his last winning mark but will get the required strong pace that he needs and isn’t out of this for place purposes. PERSUASION hasn’t been seen since a good second at Ascot but has gone well fresh in the past and might be ready to go well on his return.

Leg 5 Selections: Iron Sheriff

I am taking a risk with a place banker in leg five but IRON SHERIFF ran an eye-catching race when third over track and trip last time and gets into this race off the exact same mark. He is still two pounds below his last winning mark and, based on his recent evidence, he looks ready to get his head in front soon. Given this race lacks strength in depth, Roger Fell’s charge should be competitive with a clear passage.

Leg 6 Selections: Roman Dynasty, Southwold

ROMAN DYNASTY was only beaten three lengths here last time having been set with far too much to do and although he has yet to win since his debut, everything about him here suggests he is capable of winning from this mark. He was, however, behind SOUTHWOLD last time, who made it two wins from three starts on his handicap debut and while he has top-weight to carry, he is a major contender.
