Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's action from the third day of the Cheltenham Festival.
13:30 Cheltenham
Leg 1 Selections: Mighty Potter, Banbridge
MIGHTY POTTER has raised his game over fences and has bagged four Grade 1’s from just nine career starts which is impressive statistics. He ran poorly in last season’s Supreme but has improved lots since and he is sure to take a lot of beating with more to come in the opener to day three. BANBRIDGE ran well in the Irish Arkle to snatch second and he could provide the biggest threat to the favourite.
14:10 Cheltenham
Leg 2 Selections: Salvador Ziggy, Mill Green, Moka De Vassy
SALVADOR ZIGGY has some strong form in the book and his win at Down Royal looks strong, given he beat the likes of Ronald Pump and Home By The Lee, who are genuine Grade 1 horses. He ran a good race when fourth here last time and his trainer has a great record in this race. Nicky Henderson’s MILL GREEN was third in this last year and has sound place claims at least off the same mark. MOKA DE VASSY has run well on both previous visits here and is on a lenient mark. He could surprise a few at big odds.
14:50 Cheltenham
Leg 3 Selections: Fury Road, Shishkin
FURY ROAD ran a creditable race when third in the Irish Gold Cup last time and that is a strong piece of form. He went close in the Albert Bartlett at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival and this trip on this ground will suit. SHISHKIN returned to his best when winning the Ascot Chase last time and has an obvious chance.
15:30 Cheltenham
Leg 4 Selections: Klassical Dream, Ashdale Bob, Teahupoo
KLASSICAL DREAM was only fifth in this last year but I expect an even bigger performance this time with a lighter preparation. He is a multiple Grade 1 winner, including over this trip three times and is rated to be extremely competitive. I think he has an excellent chance of being in the first three at least but I hope he wins. He is capable. ASHDALE BOB likes testing ground and ran well to finish second in two Grade 1 events over this distance last year. He could easily make the frame at large odds. TEAHUPOO was really impressive last time and is unbeaten on soft or worse ground.
16:10 Cheltenham
Leg 5 Selections: Shakem Up’Arry, Escaria Ten, Haut En Couleurs
SHAKEM UP’ARRY ran well when fifth here last time and gets into this race off the same mark which is essential. If his rider times his challenge later, he could pose a big threat. ESCARIA TEN has the class to figure and will be well-suited to a strong pace over this trip on this ground. He isn’t to be taken lightly, while HAUT EN COULEURS could defy top weight under the guidance of the man in form, Michael O’Sullivan. Three against the field.
16:50 Cheltenham
Leg 6 Selections: Magical Zoe, Princess Zoe
MAGICAL ZOE is unbeaten in three and displayed a nice turn of foot to win going away in a Grade 3 when last seen on soft ground. She has been saved for this race since and has an excellent chance at decent odds. PRINCESS ZOE is a high-class stayer on the Flat and overcame a lot of negatives to win on her hurdles debut. She will love the ground and is the most interesting runner in the field. With more to come, she could easily upset the favourite.
