Leg 1 Selections: King Of Brazil, Future Investment, Sound And Fury

KING OF BRAZIL displayed fair form in two bumper starts and has showcased race-by-race progression over hurdles since, in which he is a winner of his last two starts. This is tougher but the longer trip should suit and he is open to a lot more improvement in his hat-trick bid.

Alan King’s FUTURE INVESTMENT was very good on the Flat and isn’t out of this despite finding life tough in this sphere, while SOUND AND FURY made a winning stable/hurdles debut a few weeks ago and is given the utmost respect for a stable in red-hot form.

Leg 2 Selections: Bridge North, Manothepole, Wynn House

Henry Daly’s BRIDGE NORTH was just about the best of these over hurdles, who was a good fifth in a Grade 1 on his final start in that sphere and has the potential to be better over fences. He is partnered by Harry Cobden, who is an interesting jockey booking, and has a fair chance.

MANOTHEPOLE can’t stop winning, who has won his last four starts, including both starts over fences and the form of his latest success has worked out well. He is likely to be given another attacking ride and could take some pegging back if he gets into his customary rhythm. WYNN HOUSE is also included for back-up purposes.

Leg 3 Selections: Dr T J Eckleburg

DR T J ECKLEBURG has made a good start to his hurdles career, winning twice and finishing second twice from six starts and his latest fourth looks like a solid piece of form given the second subsequently won the Imperial Cup to boost the form. Off the same mark here, he’s a serious player.

Leg 4 Selections: Loup De Maulde, Miss Fairfax, Knowsley Road

LOUP DE MAULDE made it four wins from his last six starts over hurdles when winning by six lengths plus at Warwick last-time-out. This race will ask more of his credentials but he is thriving at present and is very well in at the weights.

The fitness of MISS FAIRFAX has to be taken on trust but she is undoubtedly well-treated off 121 here with Johnny Burke in the saddle. The form of her third at Doncaster reads well and she sneaks into this off a low weight with improvement on the cards.

Paul Nicholls’ KNOWSLEY ROAD won his first two starts over hurdles and ran a big race when third in a Grade 2 at Warwick last time on testing ground. The step up in trip on a better surface should see him in better light and he could prove to be better than an opening mark of 134 as well. Sound claims.

Leg 5 Selections: Five Star Getaway, Enzo D’Airy

FIVE STAR GETAWAY ran an encouraging race when second in this headgear at Newcastle last time and is back down in class off a pound lower mark. His last success was from a four pounds higher mark in a higher grade race, so he’s well capable at this level and is fancied to make a serious impact.

Venetia Williams’ strike-rate at this course is phenomenal and there’s a chance top-weight ENZO D’AIRY will prove a tough nut to crack if he can jump as well as can. He only found a subsequent winner too strong last time and is lightly raced for his age. He’s a big player.

Leg 6 Selections: No Tackle, Ernest Grey

This is extremely wide-open but NO TACKLE opened his account over hurdles at the second time of asking and while he was well held when last spotted, he is back down in class and should improve for the step up to three miles with his trainer amongst the winners of late. ERNEST GREY relished the step up to three miles last time and has sound claims in his repeat bid.
