Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's action at Newcastle.
17:30 Newcastle
Leg 1 Selections: Isle Of Wolves, Trailblazer
ISLE OF WOLVES hasn’t won for over two and a half years but he’s generally consistent and ran well on his last two visits here in a pair of class 5 events and this is a class 6. The seven-year-old is a pound below his last winning mark and should be competitive under the assistance of Ben Curtis. TRAILBLAZER ran well when third at this course last time and is respected from a pound lower mark dropped in grade.

Leg 2 Selections: Ironopolis, Captain Potter
The second race can go to IRONOPOLIS, who had shaped with promise in three starts last year and wasn’t beaten far into third over track and trip when last seen either. He’s since joined another stable and the form suggests he has a leading role to play, so he makes the shortlist. CAPTAIN POTTER has a really good pedigree and could pose a threat if ready on his racecourse debut for trainer Charlie Johnston.

Leg 3 Selections: Victoria Falls, Karatayka
VICTORIA FALLS has found her form again since the visor has been fitted, winning at Wolverhampton before a good second and is fancied to go close again in leg 3 from a favourable low draw. KARATAYKA could build on her reappearance third, who is weighted to finish closer to the former on these terms and could still have more to come.

Leg 4 Selections: Camusdarach, Duke Of Wybourne
CAMUSDARACH improved with each start last year and finished a really good second at Lingfield in November. He has undergone wind surgery ahead of his handicap debut and must hold leading claims in what is a winnable race. DUKE OF WYBOURNE wasn’t at his best when last seen but drops down significantly in grade and could advance his form now he tackles handicap company for the first time.
19:30 Newcastle
Leg 5 Selections: Anif, Ron O
RON O has course-winning form and won three times last year. He ran better than his finishing position suggested over track and trip last time and has a good overall record here. If they go a good gallop, he could be a major player. ANIF has won here five times, including over course-and-distance and is only three pounds above his last winning mark, so he is feared most.

Leg 6 Selections: Saracen Head, Honour Your Dreams
Hugo Palmer’s SARACEN HEAD will make his handicap debut from a fair mark and was marginally denied over track and trip two starts ago. He could find the necessary improvement to open his account in leg 6, while HONOUR YOUR DREAMS enjoyed a productive campaign last year and could be a big player if he adapts to the surface. He has sound place claims.
