Leg 1 Selections: Beauld As Brass, Marinakis, Missing You
BEAULD AS BRASS won decisively over track and trip when last seen and while his fitness has to be taken on trust, he could be a major player on his return with improvement on the cards. I also like the claims of MARINAKIS, who makes his handicap debut from a fair-ish mark after shaping with promise in all three previous starts.
The other one I am including is MISSING YOU, who was nearest the finish when third here two starts ago and matched that form when a decent fourth on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last-time-out. He is drawn well in stall 5 plus he is trainer’s Richard Hughes only runner on the card and most of his horses are predominantly running really well of late.

Leg 2 Selections: Forever Dreaming, Come On Girl
Rod Millman’s team are in good form and therefore FOREVER DREAMING has to be included in leg 2, who should do better than her latest below-par effort. She could resume progress based on her penultimate outing success and is heavily respected with Hollie Doyle in the saddle.
COME ON GIRL has won twice on this surface, including over course-and-distance, and has been really consistent in defeat since her last success. She is drawn well in stall 1 and is only a pound above her last successful mark, so it is difficult to see her out of the frame in what is a pretty weak race for the grade.

Leg 3 Selections: Crack Of Light, Sapphire Seas
This race could prove informative this season as debutant winner CRACK OF LIGHT represents powerful connections and beat a useful field on debut at Wolverhampton. With plenty more to come, and the step up in trip to suit, this daughter of the high-class Kingman has excellent claims to potentially remain unbeaten.
Charlie Appleby’s record here is exemplary, with a strike-rate of 32% and last-time-out winner SAPPHIRE SEAS, who ran well to finish fourth here on debut, could be a big player. She probably needs to improve a touch on the numbers but she should also benefit from the step up in trip and has to be feared.

Leg 4 Selections: Swing To The Stars, Wind In Your Sails
To be completely honest, this is a tough race to solve with most of these making their racecourse debut. However, SWING TO THE STARS is a filly with plenty of ability based on the evidence of her fifth of 10 on debut at Chelmsford and could improve further here.
She did extremely well to finish as close as she did, as she raced keenly and didn’t keep a straight line under pressure but kept on well and should go well here if able to build on that promise. Ralph Beckett’s debutant WIND IN YOUR SAILS has potential and is also included.

Leg 5 Selections: Lose Your Wad
The Charlie Hills-trained LOSE YOUR WAD caught the eye when fourth in a class two event at Newmarket back in October and the form has started to work out well.
He is drawn well in stall five and should have a lot more to offer this year. His trainer is in good form, so he should be bang in contention at the business end of the race.

Leg 6 Selections: He’s A Monster, Monopolise
Just a field of six runners for leg 6 but none of them can be ruled out. HE’S A MONSTER looked just that when making it two-from-two on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. He ran poorly on his turf debut at the Curragh but bounced back last time and is expected to be competitive.
MONOPOLISE is the only one of these with a lack of a run this term but was value for a bit extra at this course last time over a mile and the drop in trip shouldn’t pose any issue. Ed Walker’s charge is open to improvement and could complete the hat-trick getting weight from all five opponents.
