Leg 1 Selections: Anmaat

ANMAAT has to give 5Ib to former Derby winner Adayar but Owen Burrow’s charge was undefeated in three starts last year, winning the John Smith's Cup handicap at York, then a Haydock Group 3 and also the Group 2 Prix Dollar at Longchamp. He has more to come and is fancied to maintain his winning sequence over a trip that should suit him more than the favourite.

Leg 2 Selections: Geremia, Adjuvant, Duty Of Care

GEREMIA hasn’t won for a while but Jim Goldie’s charge is massively over-priced. He is only 1Ib higher than his last win and has run with credit a lot since, placing six times off higher marks. He has been unlucky in a few of those as well, and stayed on well to finish 12th of 28 on his only previous visit here, which came in the Cambridgeshire off a 6Ib higher mark. He is an interesting outsider, while ADJUVANT and DUTY OF CARE remain unexposed over these sort of trips and also warrant inclusion.

Leg 3 Selections: Tarjamah, Crackovia

TARJAMAH found her stride and powered to success at Wolverhampton on debut and this Oaks entry has plenty more to come now tackling the turf coupled with the step up in distance. She is taken to remain unbeaten, while CRACKOVIA ran well in France when last seen and it’s interesting to see his French rider come over here to retain the ride. She could make the frame at big odds on her return.

Leg 4 Selections: Al Husn, Prosperous Voyage

AL HUSN won all of her three starts last season and scored with something to spare at this course in October. This is tougher but she is going the right way and is expected to play a leading role. PROSPEROUS VOYAGE sets the overall standard and this Group 1 winner, who was second in last year’s 1000 Guineas, will be hard to beat if handling the step up in trip.

Leg 5 Selections: Mawj, Lezoo

MAWJ relished the step up to a mile when easily scoring at Meydan when last seen and her trainer has booked Oisin Murphy to ride. She has been to Newmarket three times and succeeded twice plus was third when right behind Lezoo and Meditate. I like her credentials. LEZOO has only tasted defeat once in her career, winning four of her five starts and has twice won at the course, including a Group 1 last time when comfortably ahead of Meditate. I think she wins if she stays.

Leg 6 Selections: Mashadi

MASHADI has an excellent sprinting-pedigree,  being a son of Blue Point and is also related to Priceless. His trainer won this race last year and connections could be set to win it again if this potential high-class two-year-old can showcase the ability of all the horses he is related to. He could be fair value at the odds.
