Leg 1 Selections: Noble Style, Rousing Encore

NOBLE STYLE is a short-priced favourite and ran well despite surrendering his unbeaten record when sixth in the 2000 Guineas last time and is eased in grade here. He has to be included for the place purposes.

However, Richard Fahey’s ROUSING ENCORE has some good form in the book and his second over course-and-distance in the Mill Reef last season reads well. He has a much better chance than his odds imply here.

Leg 2 Selections: Yibir

YIBIR should be too good for these. He is well clear of these on ratings and form, and has winning course form as well. His record fresh is good and his second in America on his reappearance last term is high-class form.

William Buick rides and this talented individual is strongly fancied to get his season off to a flyer. Even if he isn’t at his imperious best, he should still come out on top with lots in his favour and with bigger targets later in the campaign.

Leg 3 Selections: Exoplanet, Have Secret

EXOPLANET could emerge as a well-handicapped horse in the London Gold Cup. The form of his second to Derby favourite Military Order has continued to work out well given the winner and third have both won since.

The same connections won this race with Defoe, who went on to be a Group 1 winner, so there’s possibility this is a pattern-class horse in a handicap. I like his claims, even with a wide draw, as Jack Mitchell is likely to hold him up anyway.

HAVE SECRET is drawn well and signed off last season with an easy success on his first go over this distance. He has more to come, his form has continually worked out well and has the form and credentials to outrun his double-figure odds.

Leg 4 Selections: My Prospero

MY PROSPERO went really close in the Champion Stakes when last seen and that was a really big performance in defeat when basically upside the former Derby winner. He has an unexposed profile, who is one-from-one at this course and will love the ground.

I am surprised he isn’t vying for favouritism because his form is amongst, if not the best in the field. I think he goes close to winning this as another big season awaits the talented four-year-old. I just cannot see him out of the frame and both his form and rating suggests he should be hard to beat.

Leg 5 Selections: Intellogent, Wanees, Dawn Of Liberation

INTELLOGENT shaped really well on his return when fourth behind Ottoman Fleet at Newmarket and is back in handicap company off the same mark as when he placed in both the Royal Hunt Cup and John Smith's Cup last season. Hollie Doyle is booked to ride, which is a positive sign, and this could be the day he gains a first win in the UK that he rightfully deserves after a series of big efforts in defeat.

WANEES won twice over course-and-distance last year and while he disappointed in the Lincoln on his reappearance, that run was undoubtedly needed. He is only three pounds higher than when winning at Haydock and remains open to improvement. DAWN OF LIBERATION doesn’t look badly treated off this mark and ran well when third on debut at this course behind Reach For The Moon. He could sneak into the picture at large odds.

Leg 6 Selections: Bluestocking, Polly Pott

BLUESTOCKING bolted up on debut at Salisbury, looking potentially top-class in the process, and should be suited to the step up in trip in this contest. Already as short as 10/1 for the Oaks at Epsom, she is expected by most to remain unbeaten and strengthen her claims for the big one next month.

POLLY POTT won four on the bounce last season, including the Group 2 May Hill at Doncaster at a big price. She was well beaten in the 1000 Guineas on her return but she will strip fitter and this is easier. She could resume her progress with Oisin Murphy booked to ride.
