Leg 1 Selections: Cuban Breeze, A Sure Welcome, As If By Chance
CUBAN BREEZE hasn’t been at her best for a while but her last success was over course-and-distance from a four pounds higher mark in a class 2 event and is down a couple of grades back at this venue. She’s a player, as is course specialist A SURE WELCOME who is handicapped to have a say at any point, while AS IF BY CHANCE would only need to repeat his latest third to go close.

Leg 2 Selections: Ethandun, Denruth Diamond
ETHANDUN chased home the speedy Beenham on debut at Goodwood and while the winner was down the field in a Listed event next time, the form wasn't bad at all. This son of Saxon Warrior is up against plenty of newcomers but he can put that experience to good use and go well. DENRUTH DIAMOND also ran well on debut when third and that form has a nice look, as the second has placed in Listed company since and the winner has won again. She’s a serious contender.

Leg 3 Selections: Fierce
FIERCE is more exposed than most but Gary Moore’s charge is consistent and wouldn’t need to improve much more to make a serious impact in this race. He has placed in four of his last five starts and is drawn well in stall 2. He should be thereabouts, most likely in the frame, even if he finds one or two too good.

Leg 4 Selections: Navello, Night On Earth
NAVELLO got back to winning ways at Thirsk last-time-out and even though he is back up four pounds, he goes well single-figure fields and should get a lovely pace to aim at with NIGHT ON EARTH in the field. Ian Williams five-year-old is a course-and-distance winner and is lurking on a dangerous mark. He is feared most ahead of Whenthedealinsdone, who cannot be ruled out but we will stick with two formerly mentioned.

Leg 5 Selections: Paradias, Peace Man
PARADIAS ran very well to finish sixth of 16 in the Old Rowley Cup last time, a much stronger race than this and was a good third in a much stronger race on his penultimate start at Goodwood. He remains on a career-high mark but should make his presence felt in this company, while PEACE MAN showed a good attitude to win at Windsor and should be in the mix with improvement on the cards.

Leg 6 Selections: Damascus Steel
DAMASCUS STEEL has rattled the crossbar three times in succession, finishing second in all of those, and chased home a subsequent winner when last seen at Bath. Ed Dunlop’s charge should take all of the beating in the final race on the preview.
