Leg 1 Selections: Unplugged, Restorer

A wide-open opener but UNPLUGGED has been running consistently in defeat for a while and was unfortunate not to win at Pontefract two weeks ago when denied by only a whisker. He is only two pounds higher for the race and must be respected. RESTORER is thrown in here based on historical form and could stage a revival if he’s still got love for the game.

Leg 2 Selections: King Of The Plains

The Charlie Johnston-trained KING OF THE PLAINS shaped with bundles of promise when beaten only a length into third on debut at Chester and went very close eight days ago at Yarmouth when only beaten a head in a tight finish. This son of Roaring Lion is fancied to improve again and make it third time lucky. He’s a major player for top honours.

Leg 3 Selections: Palm Lily, Song Of Success

PALM LILY won very well on debut at Kempton and while she has been winless since, she is surely better than a mark of 75. I think she will run a big race, though SONG OF SUCCESS will appreciate the drop in grade and is another filly to consider in this small-field tricky contest. I think both have leading claims.

Leg 4 Selections: Modular Magic, Abate

MODULAR MAGIC was touched off by only a short-head back in January off a pound lower mark and he is two pounds below his last winning mark, so a big run could be forthcoming with Tom Marquand booked to ride. ABATE never saw another rival when winning from the front at Hamilton and should go very well with a repeat effort.

Leg 5 Selections: Unleash Hell, Victory Shout

A difficult race to solve with every runner making their debut but UNLEASH HELL could be a useful two-year-old for Tom Dascombe, who has fantastically reinvented himself and has leading claims. Karl Burke does well with newcomers and therefore VICTORY SHOUT cannot be ruled out either.

Leg 6 Selections: Al Alaali, Fox Vision

Simon and Ed Crisford have been amongst the winners of late and it’s about time AL ALAALI gets his head in front after placing in all of his last three starts. He should go close, while FOX VISION who has placed in all four starts to date has a chance as well. He’s not out of this with Oisin Murphy in the saddle.
