Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's action at Haydock.
13:15 Haydock
Leg 1 Selections: Equilateral, Clarendon House
EQUILATERAL ran a cracker over course-and-distance in the Group 2 Temple Stakes two weeks ago when a one-length second and is strongly fancied to go one better in this easier race. He is due a change in fortune. I will also cover with CLARENDON HOUSE who ran well to finish third in the Epsom Dash and could make the frame.

Leg 2 Selections: Nomadic Empire, All The King’s Men
NOMADIC EMPIRE has loads of good-quality form to his name last win was over six from a mark of 93, so he is evidently well-treated off 89 here with his stable in excellent form at present as well. He ran well on this card last year in the Achilles Stakes when fifth and has a better chance than his odds suggest. ALL THE KING’S MEN has a win and four placed efforts this year for this stable and has gone close in strong company the last two times. He's got a leading chance with Ryan Moore in the saddle.

Leg 3 Selections: Dark Pine, Get Shirty
DARK PINE is two pounds below his last winning mark and while his best form has been on a slightly softer surface, he’s still versatile in terms of ground. He was unlucky not to win at Chester last time and gets a pretty strong vote to go one better from a low-weight with Laura Pearson booked to ride. GET SHIRTY has a lofty mark to contend with back in a handicap but is a course-and-distance winner with lots of good form to his name. James Doyle takes the ride.

Leg 4 Selections: Time Lock, Modaara
Roger Charlton’s TIME LOCK was a short-head behind Mimikyu when the pair met over course-and-distance last June but the runner-up is 11 pounds better off this time and the form of her neck second to Haskoy has worked out well with the winner scoring in a Group 3 event since. She returned a beaten favourite at Goodwood last seen when second but that was her first run of the campaign, so she is entitled to be a lot fitter now and can take the honours under Ryan Moore. MODAARA is added as cover.

Leg 5 Selections: The Wizard Of Eye, The Astrologist
THE WIZARD OF EYE lacks consistency but he does have a lot of ability and some of his form does give him a great chance if able to rediscover his best. His third on his return in the All-Weather Mile Championships Conditions Stakes is decent and he could get back on track here. THE ASTROLOGIST went very close in a Group 1 in March in Meydan and while was down the field in a Group 2 last time on his UK debut, this is easier and he could take plenty of beating with Ryan Moore retained to ride.

Leg 6 Selections: Out Of Shadows, Royal Charter
OUT OF SHADOWS enjoyed a productive 2022 and has carried that into this year, winning on his reappearance before an excellent third at Musselburgh when stepped up to a mile for the first time. He has been left on the same mark for this race and has more to come, so he’s a leading candidate. ROYAL CHARTER was highly tried in a Group 3 last time after winning on debut and will appreciate the drop in grade. She isn’t out of this.
