Leg 1 Selections: Swift Tuttle, Bollin Margaret, Wynter Wildes

C’mon Kenny is presumably going to be a non-runner having won just two days ago. With this in mind, I’ll cover with the other four runners, starting with SWIFT TUTTLE, who came close to winning over course-and-distance 18 days ago, where he was only headed inside towards the finish. If he can race less-keenly, he has a good chance of going one better. BOLLIN MARGARET bolted up at Thirsk and should go well in her follow-up bid, while WYNTER WILDES is capable from his current mark.

Leg 2 Selections: Shagpyle

Truthful made a successful debut at Salisbury but the second, who was only a neck away, has let the form since. Instead, preference goes to SHAGPYLE, an impressive debutant winner at Ascot. She travelled strongly throughout, showing a lot of professionalism, before quickening away inside the final furlong to score by more then two lengths. Open to further improvement, this daughter of Frankel is fancied to make it two from two in her career.

Leg 3 Selections: Lake Forest, Space Ninja

A tough race to dissect with hardly any form to go on but LAKE FOREST wasn’t the cheapest of yearlings and is related to several winners. His connections are prone to debutant winners, so he might be up to the task. Any market support would help as well. SPACE NINJA has an excellent-looking pedigree and James Horton’s runners are going well of late, so he could be ready to run a big race on his debut.

Leg 4 Selections: Phone Tag

Charlie Appleby’s duo deserve the utmost respect but PHONE TAG shaped with a lot of encouragement and promise when fourth on debut at Newbury, where he got the hang of things late into the race. Hugo Palmer’s charge should be able to build on that here and Tom Marquand takes the ride this time. The race is littered with potential but he should be able to at least make the frame with more to come.

Leg 5 Selections: Calypso

A lot of chances for this contest but CALYPSO posted a solid third on his handicap/seasonal debut at Newcastle when last spotted and gets the services of William Buick in this race with fitness now assured. The only minor negative would be the drop in trip but he has amongst the best form in the locker and is surely capable off a mark of 77 at this level, given he chased home the 93-rated Wiltshire at Wolverhampton in November.

Leg 6 Selections: Five Towns, Alice Knyvet

FIVE TOWNS opened her account at the third time of asking at Kempton and ran very well on handicap/seasonal debut at York when fifth of 14. That should have sorted her out in regards to fitness and she should go well. ALICE KNYVET has run to a good level in all three starts to date and makes her handicap bow from a fair mark, so she’s another to consider in a tricky contest.
