LETMELIVEMYLIFE (best price 16/1) left the impression six furlongs was just on the sharp side for him here last time out and with connections reacting in a similar vein, Sean Curran’s gelding can go along way to eroding the view that he is just an all-weather performer.

A five-time winner on an artificial surface, all over seven-furlongs, the five-year-old produced his career best effort on the grass at the Berkshire venue in a contest similar in quality to the one he faces this evening and the way he was going on at the finish suggested a return to his optimum trip might see a better return next time.

JUDGE EARLE (best price 3/1) is a bit of a standing dish over tonight’s C&D, so even though he failed to shine in a two-runner affair on his return to action at Uttoxeter last time out, there is every chance he can leave that run well behind on his return to his happy hunting ground.

As time passes, it is probably fair to say a horse of his age is a little more difficult to get fit at home than in his younger days and that certainly looked to be the case when the race-fit Brianna Rose swept by him after jumping the third last.

Patently getting tired from that juncture, Peter Bowen’s gelding ended up getting beaten by a greater margin than seemed likely turning for home, but at least that effort would have done him the world of good and a more positive view can be taken of his chances now back at a track where his stats read 32116.

ANY DREAM WILL DO (best price 13/2) hinted at a return to her very best form with a promising effort in a hot handicap at The Curragh last time out and with tonight’s assignment nowhere as tough in terms of opposition, Willie McCreery’s filly can go well for a pilot who has got a tune out her in the no too distant past.

A winner at Limerick earlier in the campaign, cheekpieces were fitted after she disappointed at Cork next time and on the evidence of her display at the Co Kildare track, the application of the headgear certainly did not do her any harm.

Although finishing just outside of the money, she would have undoubtedly troubled the main players with a clearer run that she received and a repeat of something similar should see her in the heat of battle where it counts most.

DANDY DINMONT (best price 9/2) was always playing catch up after a slow beginning over tonight’s C&D last time out, but he did more than enough in the latter stages to suggest his consistent run of form can be rewarded sooner rather than later and a return to the Merseyside venue might well turn out to be the answer.

Placed on all four previous outings this season, Nigel Tinkler’s four-year-old was prominent in the market in his bid to finally gain his due reward but unfortunately for his supporters, his task became more difficult after being caught on heels coming out of the stalls. To his great credit, however, not only did he make up the lost ground, he was the only one to offer any kind of resistance to the breakaway winner, Swayze, in the latter stages and with the time figure suggesting it was a fair race of its kind, his effort has to go down as a commendable one.

Not usually a serial offender coming out of the gates, hopefully a better break will find the son of Dandy Man in a more prominent position at halfway and if so, he should turn out to be a potent force at the business end.
