Leg 1 Selections: Tafsir, Typewritten

Jim Goldie’s filly TAFSIR has placed in four of her last five starts and is technically four pounds lower than when second at Ayr last-time-out with Jack Nicholls claim taken into account. She should again be seriously competitive, while TYPEWRITTEN is only a pound higher than her last winning mark and should be thereabouts as well. 

Leg 2 Selections: Bellarchi

The second race can go to BELLARCHI, who has displayed enough quality to suggest she should be winning a race like this. Grant Tuer’s filly wasn’t disgraced when contesting a Listed event on her second start at York and has placed in her two recent starts, including in a class 2 when last spotted. She was also right in behind a subsequent winner at Carlisle and everything points to her landing the spoils here. 

Leg 3 Selections: Montelusa, Hard Solution 

MONTELUSA surprisingly remains winless but that doesn’t justify what he has shown to date, in which he has placed in six of his 11 starts. He is in a class 6 for only the second time in his career and was beaten just a head in this grade two starts ago. He has to enter calculations, while HARD SOLUTION is a past course-and-distance winner and should feature from this basement mark. 

Leg 4 Selections: Bosc Girl

In the fourth race, I fancy Richard Fahey’s BOSC GIRL to open her account. She was unlucky not to win at Newcastle on debut in what looked a strong race for the grade, having been slow intro stride, as well running green before not getting the clearest runs. Even so, she powered through the line strongly and then only found one too good at Ripon next-time-out. She ought to take plenty of beating here with plenty more to come. 

Leg 5 Selections: Live In The Moment, Jm Jungle

LIVE IN THE MOMENT did well to finish as close as he did at Windsor just a few days ago having missed the break and has a lot of useful form to his name. He is two pounds below his last winning mark and if he gets away on level terms, he should be in the firing line. JM JUNGLE has lots of speed to burn and his two runs over track and trip have yielded a win and a second. He ran really well when fourth in the Dash at Epsom last time and a repeat should see him hard to beat. 

Leg 6 Selections: Ajyad

AJYAD, a daughter of Derby winner Australia, has progressed with each start and got off the mark at Bath last time, where she showed a good attitude to see off the second who was well fancied. Alice Haynes’ filly is stepping up in trip again here but that could bring about improvement and it will take a good performance from anything else to see her silks lowered.
