One of the most improved horses in training last season, a quartet of victories meant she catapulted herself from a rating of 81 to tackle Group 1 company in a short space of time and although she couldn’t quite pull off what would have been an unbelievable success, her performance in defeat suggested she was by no means out of place at the highest level.

Since then, the daughter of Sea The Stars has continued to press home that opinion and arriving here a good deal fresher this time around courtesy of a less industrious campaign, she should be just about at fever pitch on her return to the Co Kildare track.

YOUTHFUL KING (best price 11/2) made a brave attempt to cut out all the running at Sandown last time out, but with the likelihood that a return to the scene of his previous victory will play more into his strengths, Luke Dace’s gelding is worth keeping on side.

Given the way he ran his opponents into submission at today’s Berkshire venue a month ago, it was easy to see why similar aggressive tactics were employed two weeks later and although he couldn’t quite see of the likes of Paradias and Lord Protector in the closing, he still ended up posting time figure similar to the one he achieved the time before.

With the data suggesting he remains in decent form and with the strong possibility of another uncontested lead, the four-year-old should have every chance of seeing out today’s longer trip.

DANCING TANGO (best price 11/2) produced a useful turn of foot for a horse who had been campaigned predominately over further at Fairyhouse last time and with connections seemingly quite happy to ride a similar wave here this afternoon, Joseph O’Brien’s inmate has plenty in her favour in this competitive lady rider’s contest.

A winner during the winter campaign over 1m4f at Dundalk, she actually tried two miles on her last start at the Co Lough venue, so it was a little bit of a surprise to see her dropped back a full six furlongs on her first outing for 90 days. Despite this slightly adventurous move, however, the daughter of Camelot coped more than admirably and based on her final three-furlong sectionals to coincide with her overall time figure, she also found some decent speed from somewhere.

Clearly well suited by a strong gallop over today’s trip, the four-year-old is likely to prove a danger too all if she is within hailing distance of the pace setters turning for home.

SHEISHYBRID (best price 9/1) hasn’t had the rub of the green on her last two starts over today’s course and she is afforded another chance to put matters right on her return to the Co Kildare track.

Returning to the Flat following two disappointing efforts over hurdles, Noel Meade’s mare ran into more traffic problems than you would encounter on a busy Friday night in London and lo and behold, she was subjected to a similar rough passage despite the much smaller field on her latest visit to the Co Kildare last time out.

Clearly better than the form figures suggest on the evidence of both starts, the daughter of Mastercraftsman is likely to much more suited by today’s trip based on her Ulster Cesarewitch victory over 2m2f last season and at the morning prices, she makes quite a bit of each-way appeal with most firms dangling the carrot of five places.
