Leg 1 Selections: Love You Darling, Zenjabeela

Content is a relatively short-price on the back of a down the field effort in the Chesham and I am keen to take her on here as she’s not shown enough to warrant her place at the top of the market in my opinion.

LOVE YOU DARLING, on the other hand, made a promising start to her career when second at Leicester behind what appeared to be an above-average prospect and with that experience under her belt, she’s of serious interest at fair odds.

Of the newcomers, ZENJABEELA has a really good pedigree and Roger Varian does well with his two-year-old’s, so this daughter of Too Darn Hot could turn out to be quite useful.

Leg 2 Selections: Dancing Goddess, Desert Voice

DANCING GODDESS won well on debut and while she was disappointing when only fifth at Ascot last-time-out, she retains potential and could be thereabouts.

DESERT VOICE has won her last two starts and won with more in hand than the margin indicated at Doncaster. She could be capable of completing the hat-trick.

Leg 3 Selections: Royal Dubai

I am drawn to the claims of ROYAL DUBAI, who made a successful stable debut at Chelmsford and backed that up with an excellent second at Chester, he was doing all of his best work in the closing stages.

On that evidence, the return to a mile will suit and the best is to come from him plus this track will suit much better than Chester’s tight turns. He makes plenty of appeal and should be a clear favourite.

Leg 4 Selections: Oddyssey, Great Truth

City Of Troy won decisively at the Curragh and could be anything but ODYSSEY has seemingly been missed in the market. He stepped forward from his debut seventh at Yarmouth to finish third in the Chesham at Royal Ascot and a reproduction of that here will surely see him make the frame again. Patrick Owen’s charge has place claims.

Charlie Appleby’s GREAT TRUTH looked a very high-class prospect in the making when scoring on debut at Leicester. He went through that race very nicely and quickened away from the rest to win with any amount in hand. This promising sort is sure to be competitive as he bids to give his handler a remarkable fifth win in this race in eight years.

Leg 5 Selections: Streets Of Gold, Biggles

STREETS OF GOLD won all of his five starts last year, including valuable pots at both the Curragh and York and ran well on his return when sixth in the Greeham.

He was last seen running a huge race when third of 15 at Royal Ascot from a low draw in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes, where he travelled well  and was only beaten just over a length. He is well-in at the weights here and can make his class count with a big performance.

BIGGLES was first home in his group when ninth of 29 in Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot and has plenty in his favour here with Ryan Moore retained to ride.

He was also a good second behind Rebel Territory in the Victoria Cup two starts ago and is drawn well in stall 18 with conditions to suit.

Leg 6 Selections: Shaquille, Azure Blue

SHAQUILLE can go close to winning another Group 1 contest. He has yet to tackle the undulations of the July course but has won on the Rowley Mile well and returned an impressive winner of the Commonwealth Cup when last seen despite a bad start.

He has only tasted defeat once in seven starts and has won his last five starts, too. I think he is going to take the world of beating with improvement on the cards and hopefully Rossa Ryan can keeps things simple, as that is all he needs to do.

AZURE BLUE has been kept fresh for the race and was last seen beating Highfield Princess at York which is a good bit of form. She will need to improve again but has won on both Newmarket courses and has to be the back-up option to the former, as one of these two should win this.
