Architect Tips shares Tote Placepot tips for Wednesday's action at Sandown and yesterday's Placepot Results from Wolverhampton.
18:00 Sandown
Leg 1 Selections: Beautiful Crown, Mrembe
It’s been 16 starts since BEAUTIFUL CROWN last returned to the winners enclosure but the five-year-old is six pounds below his last winning mark and has posted some fairly good efforts in defeat this year. He merits consideration, likewise MREMBE, who resumed winning ways in June and wasn’t beaten far in third in a stronger race at Brighton. He has place possibilities in an open-looking race.
18:35 Sandown
Leg 2 Selections: Tallulabelle
The significance drop in class should see TALLULABELLE off the mark. She faced a stiff task at Royal Ascot last time but does set the standard in this race given she had previously run well when third at Beverley and this looks much easier. David O’Meara’s filly is strongly fancied to put her experience to good use and open her account.
19:10 Sandown
Leg 3 Selections: Hello Arthur, Goodwood Vision
HELLO ARTHUR has been solid in defeat in all of his six starts to date and wasn’t beaten far into fourth in a much stronger race than this at Newmarket when last spotted and also filled the same position over course-and-distance two starts ago. He is one to consider, while GOODWOOD VISION should strip fitter from her reappearance and a repeat of her previous third at Goodwood when just in behind two subsequent winners would be enough to see her home in front.
19:40 Sandown
Leg 4 Selections: Distinguished Lady, Mudskipper
DISTINGUISHED LADY has been below-par in two subsequent starts since running well from a tricky position when a neck third to Radio Goo Goo on her reappearance but she will appreciate the drop in grade and connections have booked Jim Crowley to ride. She might improve for the step up to a mile as well. I also like MUDSKIPPER who placed twice last year in much stronger events and has undergone a gelding operation since last time plus William Buick will ride. He could raise his game and figure.
20:10 Sandown
Leg 5 Selections: Zodiac Star
Alan King’s ZODIAC STAR has displayed promise and potential in all four runs to date and ran really well in a much hotter race at Windsor last time (class two) when fifth. He will make his handicap debut off a nice mark of 80 plus Callum Hutchinson will take off an additional three pounds too. Alan’s runners tend to improve for a step up in distance as well, so this unexposed three-year-old can go close.
20:40 Sandown
Leg 6 Selections: Noble Masquerade, Militry Decoration
NOBLE MASQUERADE has yet to prove he stays this far but he is six pounds below his last winning mark and went close at Windsor back in May. His only previous visit to this course saw him finish second to course-specialist Sweet Reward, so he must have every chance if Georgia Doble can consume enough of his energy for the latter stages. MILITRY DECORATION posted a decent effort when fourth over track and trip last time and might be able to make more of an impact.
How does a Placepot work?
The more people who play the Placepot at a given meeting, the larger the pool will be. If less people find the winning combination across the six races, the bigger the winning dividend will be.
When placing your Tote Placepot bet, you can choose whether to make one or more selections in each race, which are referred to as lines.
Adding multiple lines in a race increases your chances of picking a horse that places. However, your total stake is determined ‘per line’, so the more lines you place the higher the stake will be.
To work out how much you have won, multiply your stake per line by the amount of winning lines you have. Your winnings will then be either that percentage of the published £1-stake winnings or a multiple of the published dividend.
